Trying to build my first sub and am running into some problems. I downloaded winisd and it isn't very hard to use. It is however annoying to have to translate from meters to inches. Is there a version that does estimates in inches? I am going to use a extra sub from my car a polk audio db 124 it really doesn't seem to model very bad -3db at 18 hz. I need a 126.9L inclosure and i would like to try a sonotube sub because it seems cheap and easy. If the performance is good than i will probably make a box and make it look good. I need to know what size sonotube and how long i will need? :D

In winISD you can just click on the meters or whatever unit of measure it is using and it will switch from one to the other.

Here is nice little tool for cutting your sonotube to the right length.

Another trick that comes in handy:
google will convert most units- just run a search like:
126.9 liters in cubic inches
and it'll return the result

Dump WinISD. Try the FRD tool Unibox. I have designed a few enclosures with it and then tested them. They were accurate to within 1 Hz of the desired tuning frequency.

I agree. I like to use WinISD pro to look at multiple alignments, and then when I choose one I go to Unibox for fine "tuning" (pun intended) :rolleyes:

What are you having a problem with?

If you dont know the terms and acronyms mean you might want to pick up a speaker design book.

If you have specific questions I can try to help.
