View Full Version : PSW100 Hookup with Subwoofer jack on 7.1 receiver?

I have the PSW100 powered Subwoofer, and due to the purchase of a new television am reconfiguring my speaker hookups. Previously I've had my PSW100 hooked up via speaker inputs, but I have a 7.1 JVC receiver with a single subwoofer output jack. The PSW100 has stereo line inputs, does anyone know how I should connect it to the subwoofer output jack with one line?

Will it work to just hook up the subwoofer line output from the receiver to the left channel line input on the PSW100, or should I get a Y-splitter to split the subwoofer line output from the receiver to both right and left PSW100 stereo line inputs?

Any thoughts?

I guess I will just experiment, and see what happens.

I'll repost with my results, any information that anyone might have would be appreciated.

You can just hook up the single lfe out to the left input. If you choose to you can attach a y-adapter for a 6dB boost in the signal.

We had a 36" JVC from the late 90's, it was decent but lacked component inputs. I wanted to go for a 42" EDTV Panasonic Plasma, but couldn't afford to go flat screen, yet. So we settled on the 36" Sony WEGA KD-36FS130. It's still in the box, what a monster, 227 lbs. CircuitCity told my wife, it's the heaviest television they sell. We'll have to call our contractor over to lift it onto it's stand.

I can't wait to get it hooked up and hear how my new speaker hookups work, bought all new gold bananna plugs.

That's a great tv. CRT's have awesome pictures but most looking for a big screen want a little bigger tv. I personally like the picture from a crt better than most other types of tv's. My dad bought a 34" toshiba a couple years ago and it's been great so far.

Banana plugs are so damn handy if you like fiddling with different setups, plus they look cleaner than bare wire.
