How much do they run?
Im in bad need of an alarm. $2000 in my system and still have no alarm, unless you count my The Club!
All I want is shock sensor, ignition kill and keyless entry. Screw passive arming and remote start. The best deal Ive found so far is a Viper from Circuit City for $200 installed. But I dont trust the staple headed punks theyve got in the install bay. My local PRO shop, Radio Clinic, I do trust but their cheapest offering is $300 installed.
It sucks you cant buy alarms and install them yourself anymore.

our basic alarm with keyless is $229. Basic w/out keyless is $149. Thats insane that a city as big as chattanooga doesnt have anything cheaper than that. Usually...bigger city, more competition, lower prices.
Im actually not sure what itll run me. $300 or less with employee discount. We dont have a price for it but since were a clifford dealer we can get it. IMO, $300 is a small price to pay for the cost of your truck and your system. Plus, give the receipt to your insurance company and youll save money on your truck insurance. Itll eventually pay for itself. The clifford i want would probably be about a grand or more at a shop installed...good thing I get an employee discount and can install alarms now:D
But this thing can do basically anything...ever. If youre going to be gone for an extended period of time, you can set the voltage sensor. Basically, everytime your battery is in danger of being dead, itll automatically start itself to recharge it, then automatically kill the engine after its been recharged. Remote start, proximity sensor, digital tilt sensor, siren with battery back up. the only thing its missing is the piezo sirens that ill have in the cab:D
but this is cliffords flagship alarm. and clifford is DEIs flagship line. This alarm is the best you can get right now

I have a clifford myself. I would not trust any other maker.
The other brands are very easy to defeat.
I used Cliffords when I was in the CA game, and I assume they are still the shit!!!
Vipers are just toys that can make all kinds of nifty sounds from what I can remember, are they still that way today? I just hope you guys realize that your are only buying the alarms to protect your systems from the stereo thieves. They won't stop a determined professional car thief. They are usually way ahead of the game, if they weren't then car thefts wouldn't keep rising year after year ow would they??

Nothing changed between cliffords and vipers.
You are 100% right in regards to a professional thief.
I only use my car alarm to scatter the teens away.
I would only hope that someone who would go thru the expense of owning a luxury vehicle have the proper amount of insurance coverage.
I just hope the old man with the Merc didn't tell the cops he left his door unlocked. An insurance company could try and not pay the claim if he didn't properly secure the car.

I've had my AG5 on for two years now and absolutely love it. Wouldn't get rid of it for the world.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome system, Cody.
It'll just start up automatically to recharge the battery?! That's crazy (in a good way)!!!! Imagine walking by your buddies car, and you know your buddy is gone on vacation for a week, and his car just starts right up for about 15 minutes. Wouldn't that be awesome?!
lol

yea. ill be installing the alarm, so im going to take my time installing everything to look perfectly stock. The brain will be extremely well hidden. I have a prestige alarm that i got from a customer one day(it doesnt work) that ill be installing as well as a dummy alarm. 4 piezo sirens in the cab, the siren that comes with the alarm will be somewhat hidden in the engine compartment(has a battery back up as well), and another siren under the hood. The ultimate alarm install:D

Yeah, who wants to drive a crappy Ford?
I mean what a piece that 400 hp Lightning is. So what if it can out handle a Porche? Its a POS!
And how about those worthless Super Dutys. I mean those diesels are barely making 600 ft/lbs or torque. So what if it could pull the Brooklyn Bridge down?
Dont even get me started on those Ford GT's! Pish!
