My Shanling is not (quite) as futuristic looking. If I had $5K sitting around (Audio Advisor's price) I was bored with, I'd sure like to give that model a listen though.

Yeah, It would be nice to have that much extra $$$ around to play with..that's a lot of green for one chunk of gear. It is an incredible looking CD player.

The 2nd - CIA 200 watt monoblocks for $2300.00

The Portal Panache is a simple 100w-8ohms 200w-4ohms integrated I may try in the future for about $1300.00 if I dont go tubes or Crown pro amp.
Get a load of the Denon Integrated they only sell overseas......why not here?

According to the propoganda, only 300 were manufactured and only 30 units available for sale in the US. IF AA cuts their price in half, I'll pull the trigger.

Hey PolknPepsi, they may be Studio 100v2s, i own the 100 v3s and they are slightly narrower with outrigger mounted spikes and have a curved peak at the top where the tweeter resides. i will probably put them up for sale in the club Polk flea market now that i own a pair of the Loreleis. thanks....WCW III

Thanks for sharing the pics. I like the very first pic. I love the simple look of 2ch rigs.

I've heard great things about the Blueberries. And now they have Peach or something like that. They have a strong following over at the Klipsch forum, very much like Dodd is with Polk..

This is one of my favorite 2 channel setups I've seen in a long while. The colors chosen and lighting makes it "look" like it sounds good.

Dennis, That room is amazing with the colors and equipment.
What puzzles me is so many peolple have their equipment on or near the floor. Why not have it at table height so you could walk up to it and make adjustments etc. Maybe I'm just old or something.

Damn. Those are some fine looking gear and rigs.

PolknPepsi,
Just checked your sig and you own a pair of RF-7. Have you compared them directly to the RF-35? The 7's are what I would eventually upgrade to if I upgrade at all. I love my 35's so much. How do they perform on bass? Damn monsters are 99lbs each!

Hey Maurice,
Our dealer carries Klipsch & Paradigm and I did demo all the big ones of their line. At the time I figured the bigger the better and the $$$ was available at the time so I jumped on the big monsters. I can't remember or could not hear much difference between them because they were using a small Denon receiver as an amp. The bass is pretty good but the subwoofer still makes a very big difference. I heard with high dollar amps they don't need a sub.
Any of the Klipsch line to me seem super revealing and amplification is everything. I borrowed a 250 watt Carver amp from them and there was a huge difference in sound but the amp was cutting out so back it went.

10-27-2005, 06:14 PM
Pat,
Thanks for the informative reply. Yeah, they're super revealing. Swappping gear can make a very big difference.

The 7's have an imp dip of 2.8 Ohms so that's probably why the amp was cutting out.

I will own a pair one day:).

I've been thinking about having him mod my ST70 for some time now.

What kind of mod are you talking about? I thought about doing mods and even contacted NOSValves about them. After doing a lot of research I decided to keep the amp stock. I love the stock sound and don't want to change it.

After mods, the amp is no longer a Dynaco. A lot of people believe in the original design. Many say it sounds better after mods, but they're comparing 40yr old parts to new ones. Those who rebuilt the amp with a replacement stock board, better quality caps and higher PS capacitance say the amp sounds killer. I'm keeping mine stock. My next purchase for it will be the PS caps from Curcio. After that I'm getting a replacement 7199 board with premium caps.

The really cool thing is that it would probably only take about 150 watts or less, total, to drive that rig to insane levels.
