This is going to be similar to the "What are you listening to" thread, but for movies.

Provide more than just a simple I liked it or didn't like it. How/Why did you come to your conclusion

1) Movie Title

2) Actors/Actresses (you may also put the director and producer here if you want)

3) Descriptive opinion of the movie.

Example:

1) Flightplan

2) Jodie Foster
Written by: Peter A. Dowling and Billy Ray
Directed by: Robert Schwentke

3) I did and didn't like this movie. I'm not a big fan of Jodie Foster. To me, she just always looks scared/nervous, but stubborn. I found it hard to believe her daughter was actually missing. At one point I did start to conclude that this could be 6th Sense concoction, but it was short lived because she then saw the heart in the window...

I liked it because it was hard to figure out why they wanted her and who was actually in on it. At one point, there are at least 4 stewardesses, the captain, the federal agent, a family, a psychiatrist, and a couple of middle eastern men that "could" have been in on it all. It even plays off of some of the previous roles we have seen the actors in before. For example, the bad guy on National Treasure is the captain.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, I'm not going to give the whole thing away. I'll refresh this review once it is out on DVD.

Last night I watched "A Man Apart", for the first time in a while. The main actors were Vin Diesel, Larenz Tate, Geno Silva, Timothy Olyphant, and Jacqueline Obradors. Directed by F. Gary Gray, released in 2003.
This movie was pretty good to me. I liked and disliked a few things about it. The revenge factor in this movie was high, and made Vin seem like a man possesed with getting back at the guy responsible for his wife's death, something we can all relate to. I think it had pretty good action, and lots of shooting. Sound and picture quality were okay. Geno Silva made a good "Drug Lord", and seemed to be playing Vin like a fiddle all through the film. Jail time was not punishment enough for "Memo", I wanted him to get the same thing that "Hollywood Jack" got, a slug in the ass. A man that powerful could still run the streets from inside prison. Over all a decent film, and I enjoyed it last night.

Written, but not directed, by: Luc Besson

I really enjoyed this film. Just saw it a couple of weeks ago. Lots of excellent fight scenes, very raw and realistic-no CGI fake, flying flips a la "The Matrix." Great story, too, and the acting was incredible. Especially Bob Hoskins-what a terrible energy he conveys in this film. It gets a little slow in the middle, but then quickly picks up again and doesn't let up until the end. Lots of great subwoofer material w/ the fight scenes. My neighbor came over and asked me to turn it down, and it was only at -20 on the volume.

Best film I've scene on DVD in awhile, save for Batman Begins. I'm really a huge fan of that film, too.

Clash Of The Titans

The last movie made by Ray Harryhausen before his death, and one of the last stop-motion films ever made~ not to mention a couch potato's guide to Greek Mythology 101.

One of my favorite old school films. Good one, even though it is not in DD or DTS. I love Greek and Norse Mythology.

Watched "House of Wax" last night. Over all a decent thriller, that made us jump and caused a heart flutter here and there. Not one for the scary movie hall of fame, but it got the job done for a pre-candy day scare for the teens. Very predictable to say the least, kept everyone on the edge of their seat. Paris Hilton and Elisha Cuthberth were nice to look at, but the movie was typical; end up off course in a desserted off the map town, where serial killers are the only people there. Put me in the mind of "Wrong Turn".

Tonight we will look at "Amityville Horror".

Just watched Kingdom of heaven and Saints and soldiers in the last week

Orlando bloom for KoH

S and S no HUGE names...

KoH was entertaining and minimally true so I guess thats a good part. I really enjoyed it had some cool scenes especially the landscape.

Saints and soldiers is up there on my favorite movies list. It's just a great movie with immense character development some action but nothing epic it's just a great film. Love the characters

Outstanding movie! A must see for all, and amazing action. I really got lost in this movie, and forgot where I was. There were also a lot of gaps filled in for me as to what was what, and who was who. If you don't like this movie, somethings wrong. I am kinda glad I got to enjoy this one in the HT room with no interuptions. The SQ was excellent and the PQ had brilliant color. I wish I had four hands so I could give this movie four thumbs up.:D Next up is Amityville Horror.

BUMP! Watched Lethal Weapon 2 last night, and LMAO. Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Joe Pesci were hilarious together. Great movie with tons of action. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the guy from S. Africa, just so happened to be the one responsible for Riggs' wife's death. Yeah right...Other than that, a great movie with a lot of shooting and good explosions. Soundtrack was not all that great for a DTS remaster, but I still enjoyed it.

Two Sci-Fi classics popped up in my Blockbuster queue this week, so two nights ago I finally saw "Blade Runner" for the first time. It's one of those movies I enjoyed thinking about AFTER i watched it more than I enjoyed watching it. It moved kind of slowly, and hasn't aged too well, but at the same time, thinking over some of the questions it brings up made it worth it. There've been whole threads on this board about Blade Runner so I won't go into much mroe than that.

Then last night I watched "Logan's Run", which I really enjoyed. I mean, it was campy as ALL hell, and some of the effects were almost COMICAL by today's standards, but it was made in 1978 and keeping that in mind I was actually impressed with a lot of it. Plotwise I thought it was really interesting and... different. Original. Something you don't see in many movies these days.

I just picked up one of my favorites that I didn't know was finally released on DVD last year. The Watermelon Man staring Godfrey Cambridge plays a loud mouthed racist that wakes up one morning to discover he's turned into a black man! This starts as a comedy and then turns into something different. This is a great movie that I haven't seen in years and it still holds up well today..if you have never seen it do yourself a favor and either rent it or buy it!!!!!!!

Madagascar,

This movie was not as good as I thought it would be. I found it rather boring, not to the point of turning it off, but to the point of getting up and loading some dishes in the dishwasher.
