View Full Version : Finally watched Fahrenheit 9/11, talk about sub action.

On a home theater note ....Holy bass blast batman
We sure weren't expecting that kind of boom in the bomb scenes.
I leaped out of my chair to turn down the sub for fear it would explode.
The sound was done at Lucas sound studios.
My favorite quote in the movie was from G.W.
something to the effect of....
'as I look around the room it's quite a distinguished group here tonight....
"the haves, and the have mores". Some call you the elite, I call you my base'.
yeah.....

let's please not get political, ok? I've been through those wars on here, they're certainly not fun, regardless of who's right and who's wrong.
If you like Moore so much then I suggest Bowling For Columbine, for its goodwill alone. At least it wasn't trying to manipulate an upcoming election.

Do people think before they post shit on this forum? First it's the original post, and then our resident Lib has to chime in with more shit.
Don't say to keep politics off the forum and then plug the fat-ass scene splicing son of a bitches other movie.
You've got to be one dumb son of a bitch to believe any of that crap.

Nice edit BTW, too bad we can't leave what was previously said.

at first i sort of liked bowling for columbine, which was the movie aaharvel mentioned. but when i watched it again i noticed the sheer liberal force behind the "documentary". first time around i wanted to watch a documentary with no political underpinnings. don't even want to watch ferenheit 911 because i know that fatty (michael moore) is just pushing his politacal views. but to each their own. i am republican and can appreciate others' point of views. so everyone go ahead and rock on!
...........btw, sorry, nothing against fatties over here. :)

Listen, Andy....as soon as you learn to stop posting your political crap all over these forums is the time I'll stop. As soon as you see me STARTING political crap on this board you can go ahead an tell me to go eff myself, until then go wank off, you go that? I haven't started such a thread since it got the axe here, take a look around.
This kind of crap may work with the rest of the members, but it doesn't work with me. I see right through your crap and so do the others who choose not to be vocal about it outside of PMs. You want to play Mr. Middle of the Road nice guy, but you can't help working in your off to the side political commentary on EVERY sketchy political thread. If you can't do that, take a hike, you smell a lot like our Spiderman troll we used to have here, and guess what? HE'S GONE! I'd suggest letting threads like this just ROT instead of responding to them. I wouldn't have replied to it had our resident Lib troll not come here to give his love to Michael Moore and then delete half of his colorful commentary. What a spineless little twit you are to boot.

I've posted ZERO political garbage since the last time we got into it, Demiurge. ZERO. IF anything, I was merely telling the original poster NOT to discuss politics. You may not actually START the political threads, but you're ALWAYS the 1st one to get out of line when it comes to insulting others. I've got an army full of threads to back that statement up as well, not to mention AT LEAST 15 others on these forums that feel the exact same way.
I may have alot to learn, but you need to learn how to read.
The problem with you Demiurge is that you're a troll of the highest order, a pitiful clown. Over 2,000 posts and you do NOTHING to help others out on these forums. Nothing. You sit back, and post only when you feel you can stir the pot. That's it, and that's all. People such as yourself and hE-Man are the very reasons why many of our seniors have left the forums.
I know I'm not perfect when it comes to these forums, far from it. I may even be a little hot-headed, but most people on here know that i treat them with respect regardless of differences unless i'm needlessly provoked, and I go out of my way MANY times to help others out.
I stand by comment Demiruge. The people that post on here deserve better than your bullshit antics. You have serious personal issues, and one day I hope you get them sorted out. Until then, I stand by my comments. You're a worthless troll, MANY others on here agree with me. What's sad is that you haven't come to this realization yourself.

Excuse me you miserable little puke, where the hell do you get off? I'm the reason people left the forum? Your lack of a clue is astounding. Where's RuSsMaN, Doro, Sean, and others whom I have made transactions/donated to the Hurricane cause with on this forum and have never had one ounce of a problem with? They're gone because of me? Are you sure about that. I'd sure like them to step up to the plate and say that. After all this is out in the open.
Let's get one thing straight...you are the forum troll if one exists on this thread. You show up here out of the blue and apply your political slights to every thread that has something to do with it. I never start the threads and I also never start the commentary. Oh, did I call you a Liberal once? Have you ever heard of subtlety before? People who beat around the bush and infer things? That' you, and that's indicitive of a troll. The moment a troll like YOU shows up and starts in with it, I'm going to respond and I'm going to route you out every time. I'm not going to let your baseless commentary slide, especially when you edit your posts after the fact to say something different. Others may not care, but I do. Others might not like me for what I'm saying, and I really don't care.
As I said before, as soon as I go out of my way to initiate some big political debate, you go right ahead and call me out on it. Until then why don't you take a hike if you can't sit back and STFU with your little comments on EVERY thread where someone who DOESN'T know better starts in on the political stuff. You don't fool anyone and the crap where you try to suck up to Mac and now BIZILL in threads when they're you're political opposites and I'm arguing with you. That 10 year old tactic doesn't work. This is between you and me. You want to make baseless accusations like the core members of this forum left because of me? LMAO...It's flattering to know you think I can affect such a change, but I did like them all, whatever their reasons. I know what I know because of them and have done a number of transactions with them as I learned more about this hobby.
If you want to think I'm a troll, fine, my contributions to the forum stand. I guess it's nice to know I get such a rise out of you. Pull your head out of your ass, Andy.
You're a worthless troll, MANY others on here agree with me. What's sad is that you haven't come to this realization yourself.
Where are they? As soon as they show up and post, I'll leave. Get all 15, I'll make a deal, 5 and I'm gone.

I hadn't seen this movie, though I'd heard alot of hoopla about it.
Blockbuster had a 2 for $12 table, and I really wanted to pick up "In America" which was on the table, but they wouldn't sell it to me for $6 unless I got a second selection. So.....I grabbed 9/11
I searched for a thread on this film, but there wasn't one I could see, so....
this being the MOVIE area, I made a post.
I have a SVS PC+ set at 12 o'clock position, and it damn near blew the protective screen off my Mitsubishi.
I didn't get that kind of thump from the fish tank scene in "Finding Nemo"
Nothing political in my statement above. Bush said it, and I repeated it, take it for what you want.
But if you haven't actually seen the movie, then,
as Walter in the "Big Lebowski" would say.....

This thread is soon to be locked or gone..let's have fun!
Here is the comments that Neal Boortz had about the email tip that was sent to warn about terror attacks.
"OK, now here's the story. And it says, "The Homeland Security Department launched internal probes yesterday into whether its officials tipped off friends and relatives to a possible subway terror plot days before average New Yorkers were alerted." So the real gripe here is that it seems that some wealthy people got notified of the terror plot before the great unwashed, before the others. Now, the Daily News in New York has a headline: "Rich got terror tip." Rich got terror tip. OK, let's get logical about this, folks. Let's play logic with this. This is as it should be. OK? If we are faced with disaster in this country -- let me ask you this, OK? You just be logical. Get all of the emotion out of this. Get all of the emotion out of this. But if we are faced with a disaster in this country, which group do we want to save? The rich or the poor? Now, if you have time, save as many people as you can. But if you have to set some priorities, where do you go? The rich or the poor? OK? Who is a drag on society? The rich or the poor? Who provide the jobs out there? The rich or the poor? Who fuels -- you know, which group fuels our economy? Drives industry? The rich or the poor? Now if you -- all of a sudden, somebody walks up to you and says, "Hey, Boortz listener. You're gonna have a -- you have to make a choice. You're going to -- we're gonna move you to another country. And you're just gonna have to make your way in this other country. We have a choice of two countries for you. In this country, people achieve a lot and they are wealthy because of their hard work. In this country, people don't achieve squat. They sit around all the time waiting for somebody else to take care of them. They have children they can't afford. They're uneducated. They can barely read. And the high point of their day is Entertainment Tonight on TV. Which country do you want to live in? The country of the high achievers, or the country of sheep, the country of followers?" You know what you're gonna do. I don't see what the big problem is. I just don't. I mean, if you -- who do I want to save first? The rich. Save the poor first. Then, when everything's over, where are you gonna go for a job? OK, hey, if I get a tin cup, can I sit next to you and sell pencils too?
I'm serious about that, folks. You see, that's the kind of thing that's going to end up in news stories: "Neal Boortz said that in times of disaster we should save the rich people first." Well, hell, yes, we should save the rich people first. You know, they're the ones that are responsible for this prosperity. I mean, you go out there and you look at this vast sea of evacuees, OK? You want to get an economy going in some city? Well, who you gonna take back? The people who own businesses? Or the people that sit around waiting to get their minimum wage job, work 'til Friday, get a paycheck and then not show up again until the following Wednesday? Come on. Just put a little logical thought into this, folks."
Anybody agree??

Dissent is one thing but making propaganda movies for the enemy in the middle of the war is why firing squads were invented.
I wish hed been alive in 1941 and made a movie about how FDR was an idiot and in bed with Hitler and only fighting the war for oil or whatever. He would be drug out of his house and stoned!

i don't think any of us are pussies, maurice. if you have any political views that are strong and you are passionate over 'em, you're gonna have some fighting that comes along with it. have you never argued/fought with another person of different views? have you ever fought with your friends? i know you think we should all be civil, but politics bring heat, if the opposing views are taken very seriously by their purveyors. if you have not fought a verbal battle when it comes to politics, either everyone you surround yourself with is your clone, or they lack passion or are overly passive. some political debates can be conducted with civility, but the possibility may arise where two or more persons will walk away from the debate with less respect for the other. please don't deny this fact. it is but human nature.

Just to clarify...
I'm not offended by anyone talking about their political views, I do love talking politics and debating the issues. Michael Moore has his right to make his movies and I don't think anyone has denied that. I also think everyone has the right to their opinion. The problem is that when you're making your opinion known on flammable topic you best be ready to defend it when challenged. You make yours, I'm going to make mine. Go back to the threads referenced where I made comments, there were never any responses to my arguments, just diversions and personal attacks. Someone please tell me I wasn't making a point. I always know when I'm winning an argument, that's when.
I'm passionate about my beliefs and they mean more than an audio forum, that's just the way it is. When I see folks saying stuff that is either factually wrong or I deem to be wrong (opinion) in regards to something socially, economically, or politically charged I am always going to speak my mind. I'm not going to be PC, and I'm not going to be cute about it making snide remarks and beating around the bush.
In so doing there's going to be folks cheering you and other folks that want to rip your head off. Screw trying to play nice in the middle. Politics is rough and that's probably why so many don't care about it, I do. I've been involved in it for years and rolling over playing nice with the ideological enemy doesn't get you anywhere. Not working for the current administration, is it?
I digress....
As far as I can tell Justin banned political talk on the board, for the better. We all mixed it up a bit together when Spiderman was here, it's still all there for you to read. Since that went down I haven't started a politically charged thread, and let it be known I never really ever did. I came here on a reccomendation of one of our members who just recently sold all his gear and is off on a different path in his life for now.
When I saw the thread sitting here there was no reason to say anything. I don't know the original poster as someone who likes to mix it up with the political stuff so I figured it would sink into oblivion. Then someone replied with some comments that were false and smearing, so I responded. I've admitted elsewhere on this board that reacting to stuff like this is a fault of mine. Regardless of that point I stand by my comments that I've made here and in other threads. I'm not trying to unite anyone, but I also don't want folks who are ignorant of the topics to stumble accross a thread like this, read the initial commentary and then believe it. As I said above, if you actually sat through that movie (billed as a documentary) and believed what was being said, you're lacking in the brain. You've got to be. I don't care what your political affiliation.
So in the end this isn't the place for politics, and believe me I frequent other boards devoted to this very topic. I just don't know why anyone should be expected to just let people fly off the cuff on crap and then actually get offended when someone disagrees with you or calls you out on it.
I still need just 5 folks to show up and tell me to leave and/or confirm I'm the reason they left. My only fault is responding every time, and it's probably dumb for me to respond with this.

Demiurge....
I support your right to disagree with someones point of view when you think or know they are wrong, but it seems as if you really go overboard sometimes. Granted, Andy was probably out of line when he told you to go f*ck yourself, which I believe he has apologized for. But I have seen you go off before, and not really seem to pay attention to the counter arguments being made by those who have another point of view. I believe you did this with me once on the issue of global warming, which, by living in Alaska, I have witnessed firat hand. I digress........
I think there are pretty good reasons why political talks are not wanted here. I disagree with it, btu maybe thats the way it should be. I consider myself pretty middle of the road, but even I am disgusted with the turn this country has taken in the last 5 or so years under W. He is the president, and for that reason and that reason only, I respect him, but only the position he is in, not him as a man. It seems as if many conservatives in this administration want no dissent, and if you do disagree, then watch out. Maybe W is no different from anyone else, who knows.
I just hope we can be adults here and not resort to calling each other trolls, etc.....sound reasonable? As for me Demiurge, I like your point of view and I would never want you out of this forum. Cheers!!
