Iv'e had my rti 12's for a year now and was thinking of upgrading. I was thinking on the lsi line, I like the sound of the lsi25's but then theres the 4ohm problem. The amp i have is the Denon 3802 and not good for the 25's.My question here is should i go with a better amp to push the rti's or upgrade to the lsi25 and get a better amp to push them later. right now i have the RTI 12 front,CSI5 center,FXI5 rear. I like the 12's for theater but for music there missing something..quick answer please ive got till nov 6 to upgrade ?

Upgrade to an external amp. Seriously. Not just for the 12's but for ALL of them. A 5ch. amp. Trust me it made a difference in my little rti's so it WILL make a difference in your monoliths. Try Ebay/Audiogon. For the money you can't go wrong with NAD, Adcom used. Outlaw new. After that, you might just like your RTI's for music- if not, add LSI's later, but get stronger amplification regardless.
Good luck!

already tried the parrasound 1500a and there wasn't that much difference in the over all sound to invest a 1000 dollars for.I think the lsi25 would make alot more of a difference and the upgrade would cost me 1300$ including the lsi center as well?

I just upgraded to three 300 watt Outlaw monoblock
AMPS ( M2200 ) for my LSi15s and LSiC and now use
my Denon 4802 as a pre/pro and to drive my surrounds.
HUGE difference - frig'in unbelieveable...
well if you already tried the parasound and was not satisfied with the RTis, then I guess the LSi25s are the way to go...sounds like you are trying to take advantage of an upgrade program....Your Denon will probably be ok if you dont drive the 25s too hard...afterall, the 25s have their own amps to drive the woofers...

Empasis on "not too hard". My Denon 4802 tripped into
protection a couple times trying to drive my speaker
system ( before I add the Outlaws ) even with 1250 RMS
Watt 15 in. subwoofer :-)

I would try another external amp, even if it is a 2 channel just for the 12's or a 3 channel to include the center. maybe go used for more bang fo the buck in the amp dept, which will open the doors nice and wide for the LSi's in the future. I really thing getting the LSi's first is like putting the cart before the horse. Tha RTi's will sound better with the right amplification, but perhaps you will need more heft than the 1500 gave you. aim for something 20WPC plus. Those Outlaw monoblocks come to mind. I've heard nothing but good things, or as I allready said, go the used route.
