Does anyone know if this is actually out on DVD? I've heard and read that there are no plans to release this on DVD yet I find links like this that indicate it is on DVD:
http://www.musiccdvideo.net/music/pink_floyd-203/delicate_sound_of_thunder_dvd-5140.html

Anyone know the 'real' deal? This is for a friend whose house (and laserdisc player and collection) burned down so I want to make sure I give him good information.

Looks like bootleg.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I read a review from someone who supposedly bought the DVD on Ebay and he said the video was really bad.

The best way to check is to go directly to the record label website and look for info on dvds or recordings.

There was a laserdisc and VHS release in the late 80's. The ones (DVD's) you find are more than likely copy's of one of the other formats. Which in itself would't be so bad if you were getting a boot from the original laserdisc.

I have both the laserdisc and the copy that I bought off e-bay,, the laser is much better, I have not been able to find the "real" dvd :)

So if you had the laserdisc would it be possible to take it somewhere and get a decent copy to a DVD?

Can't you make a copy via the analog outputs on the Laserdisc to DVD?

I saw news of a DSOT release on DVD in the future, BUT it was not going to be worked on until THIS IS RELEASED>>>YEAH!!! (http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/news/0510041.html)

Read The last paragraph....it has a Delcate Sound of Thunder DVD update. Which is not very good news!

You're talking about Gilmour, Wright & Mason, correct? This isn't really Pink Floyd, ya know. Just figured I'm mention that. (It's my job.)

Yeah, right. But I guess the record/DVD label doesn't. They probably also don't know that Page, Plant and Jones aren't really Led Zep and Daltry, Townshend and Entwistle aren't really The Who  (sarcasm, sarcasm, sarcasm)
