Can you tell I went shopping yesterday?

Very good 20 bit re-mastering effort on this CD. Sounds tons better and weightier than the first cut. All the way from cymbals to bass, everything is cleaner, staged better and more 3-dimensional. Kudos. A worthwhile "upgrade" if your stuck with the 16-bit version.

Don't get the formats confused with the bit count. There are alot of 20-bit redbook CD's that are NOT HDCD. There's a difference. In fact there are 24-bit redbook CD's as well. SACD/DVD-A are another format altogether....

This Aerosmith CD is Redbook, 20-bit.

What ever format it is, it's now on my shopping list. 'Rocks' was my favorite album when I was a youngin. They were my favorite group up until 'Draw the Line' (were they started to lose my interest).

Apparently, Aerosmith's "Rocks" was also released on SACD (http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=84094) (photos) before quickly deleted.

Danny, I remember seeing "Rocks" on SACD being offered up years ago, but it may have been a pre-order deal, can't remember for sure. It doesn't make sense that Sony wouldn't have re-issued it as an hybrid since they already had it in the DSD format. Sony sucks!

Exactly. The transfer and remastering have been done already, so anything beyond the cost of pressing the disc would've been pure profit for Sony.
