As (most of you) know, I now have some tubes pushing my speakers.
*yaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:):):):):):cool::cool::cool::D:D:D :D:D*
Ok.....now, back on track...
I'm either using my Yamaha RX-V1400 as my pre, or I'm just using my portable CDP as the pre and connecting it directly to the monoblocks. (Wow...I can say I have monoblocks....life is good...:D) My question is, where should I go next? Should I get a tube preamp or should I look at nicer CDPs for my next step? One of those two shall be next, I just don't know which one I should look at first.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Shanling CDT-100 or 200 (SACD) - tube output - drive your monos direct - excellent remote attenuation.
Let me make this clear as I posssibly can....
A TUBED PREAMP, DAMNIT!!!!!
Mike,
What can one of those Shanlings be had for??

I'm curious about the Shanling as well. Their cd players look like space ships.
Bliss,
Get a pre amp.

I thought the space-ship one was around $5000?!? I believe their other ones are much more reasonable, more in the $2000 range.
I to would have to say tube preamp first, I think the change in my system was more dramatic with the tube pre then the tube cd player.

Gaara,
Which tube cd player do you have? I plan to get a Jolida when I get the cash. $2000 is too much for me.

The CDT-100, used, can be had for around $1000.
I bought mine used, with Parts Connexion Level 1 mods, for a little more than half of what Underwood HiFi (http://show.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/shm.pl?dgtlplay&1064066122&item&Underwoodwally&4&5&6&http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fs_srch.plQQANYAAAApurlsrchAAEXYAAstAAAAAAshanling ) is asking. But, it was a lucky deal I fell into when we went to audition the Cain & Cain Abbys.

Organ,
The Jolida JD-100SR. The SR is what Hot Rod Audio Mods calls thier level 1 modded unit. It was the same price as buying one new, almost, except you get alot more. I got impatient and at the time there were non reasonable at audiogon (one used for 800 with scuffs).

Jared,
Thanks man. That's probably what I will go for eventually. All I know is that I want tubed output and I'm not gonna spend more than 1k. Jolida looks like the ticket for me unless I can find a used Shanling at the same price.
