Tomorrow's my birthday, but we're celebrating tonight, and I need some gift ideas! I don't want anything that's affordable, so I just said I want money. However, my parents obviously want to give me 'something', so I'm thinking about CDs.
What about Kansas? I really like their "Dust in the Wind". What's a good CD of them that's like that?
Train. I like a few of the things I've heard from them, such as "Calling All Angels" and "Drops of Jupiter". Hmm....that's the only thing of theirs I've heard that I can think of.
I'm also thinking about Michelle Branch's Spirit Room.
I think I like some of The Police's stuff, like "Every Breathe You Take". I'm not sure what all else they did, though.
Now, here's where the real advice comes in.
I love songs like No Time, Summer Breeze, Old Time Rock and Roll, Baby I Love Your Way, December '63 (O What a Night), Everybody Plays the Fool, Higher Love, House of the Rising Sun, I've Had the Time of my Life, etc. Basically all the stuff they play on the Oldies station. So, what would be some CDs that have this kind of music? Specifically, I'd really love to have Summer Breeze and Old Time Rock and Roll on CD.
I guess what I'm asking for you to do is kinda hard, but I hope I've mentioned enough songs to represent what I like pretty well. So, suggest away!!
Thanks!

From what I could tell, The Isley Brothers is who did "Summer Breeze". However, I just got on Barnes and Noble's website and listened to their version and I HATE it. It seems Seals and Crofts is the group who did the version I like. As far as I know, I've never heard of them before.

To get December 63 (O What a Night) by Frankie Valli & the 4 Seasons as well as other cool tunes pick up their Anthology CD.
They came to Boston for an oldies concert that a radio station puts on here.
100,000 people jammed into Goverment Center to hear them!
Frankie's falsetto is totally gone, but it was a slamming concert. It was also the last one held in City Hall Plaza! :D They moved it over to the Esplanade were they put on the 4th of July concert every year with the Boston Pops. :)
Oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :D
Hey.....what's that make you now.....like 13 years old or something ;) :D :p

cfrizz - Thanks for the info. Since you seem to know a bit about that artist (I had never heard of him), I'll ask you since I don't know any of his other work. Is there a CD in particular you'd recommend that has December '63 (O, What a Night) and Can't Take My Eyes Off You on it?
Thanks!
It's probably good that I can't decifer that crap, cause I'd hate to have to go all the way to NC to spank your ass

Well, at supper I got a few CDs. Bob Segel - Greatest Hits and Kenny Chesney - When the Sun Goes Down. I have a feeling some more will be coming tomorrow.
After having listened to just half of my Bob Segel CD, I can pretty confidently say I'm now a fan.

cfrizz - This CD I found at WalMart seems to be a good replacement for the one you recommended, since I can't find that one.

Ummmmmm...no they're not...dope  :p
LOL
The one on Amazon, besides having a different cover, has 26 songs. The one from wallyworld is a 2 CD set and has 52 songs!!
I believe they have the same title and the one at Wally world is the newer edition . Doesn't the one at Wally world have all the songs the other has? The one at Wally world is also remastered. I haven't looked at the one on Amazon, but when I saw Cathy's mention of the title, I knew the cd because I had purchased it for my mother. So when I saw the link you provided I recognized it as Frankie Valli and the Four Season's Anthology. Sorry.

I'd add Drops of Jupiter by Train to your list... it is one of the few albums I own where I can listen to the whole thing through, over and over again.
The Police do have a best of set called 'Every Breath You Take: The Singles'.. that is worth picking up as well.
I'm living in the town Bob Seger was born in right now... ;)

Happy birthday man!
New music not only means new tunes to chill with but that you get to sit back and enjoy your audio system, and then become obsessed that you need a new cable Y over the cable X you have now... :)
