Yeah, the weather's been pretty weird lately. So here it is beginning of November and we have a nice T-storm roll through. Got some great pics, though, just go to http://www.king-nerd.com/dood/images/minigal/index.php?list=Photography/Weather/November%20thunderstorm
I can have an exposure up to 16 seconds with the 7590, and I used that setting on most of the pics. Obviously had it set up with a tripod. On some, I used my wide-angle lens to try to get more of the sky...

This is my favorite-

I wish I had been out in the yard instead of on the porch, though. It wasn't raining yet, but I was afraid it was going to open up soon, and sure enough it did, which sent me running in the house, even from under the cover of the porch, because the wind was blowing so hard.

Nice shot!
I think it's headed our way after a gorgeous fall day.
Nadams,
I looked through your gallery. I am no expert, but I believe you caught a funnel cloud. I noticed a low wall building in what appears to be chaotic and swirling order.. your next series of shots clearly shows a cloud lowering in a funnel like shape. I could be wrong, but it does look like you might have caught something there.

Zero- while I'm no meteorologist, there wasn't really any swirling going on. It was quite windy, though, and this storm system had spawned some tornados in neighboring states, but I didn't really see much swirling. It was pretty much a standard straight-on t-storm. Whipped through here fast... was said and done in about 45 minutes, rain and all. Knocked the power out for 3 hours, though.

Yes... consider that it was DARK when I was taking these pics. I was really having fun playing w/ the long exposure. I like how the pond is lit up in #8. 8 and 10 kind of overexposed, because they were at the beginning of a long exposure. Still looks cool :)

I submitted all of the good shots to my kind of local news station, and they showed the two big strikes on the 6pm news
