I got lazy and instead of replacing my polyswitches, I just bypassed them altogether. I hope that if I never push any of my amps past halfway that I will be safe. Come on these are supposed to be 1000 watt speakers.
I'm currently running a 100 wpc push-pull tube amp. Comments?
Would I be safer to buy the 600 wpc Sunfire to make sure I'm pushing clean power to the speakers?

You would be even safer by spending a few bucks in replacing the polyswitches :)
Use your ears, if they don't sound right, turn the shit down :D

I by-passed my fuses on my SDA-2's. I soldered a solid 14 guage copper wire between the terminals. Why spend the money on interconnects, heavy wire, etc., if your going to put those electrons thru a fuse with a wire no thicker than a hair?
I plan to do the same on my 2.3 polyswitches.

Well, seeing as the rest of the wiring (cap leads, etc.) aren't any thicker I think it's a moot point.

Jesse,
The fuse filament that came with my SDAs were much thinner than the crossover component leads. I hear what you saying, but one less very small conductor is an improvement. The polyswitches seem to be problematic. The user's equipment and listening habits should be considered. I don't want to see anyone's tweeters fried
