I would like to thank all the forum members, but especially Dorokusai, PolknPepsi and Russman for their used pricing information, for their contributions to my threads regarding the upgrades to my two-channel system. I am happy to say that in two of the three instances addressing specific equipment, I was able to secure the items in question. The third item (Dynaudio Confidence C1 speakers) unfortunately was out of budget, but I managed to find an alternative in the Contour line.

For the most part the two-channel rig is complete and will remain in this state for the foreseeable future. I must admit that my wife is happy to hear me say this. All that is now required is an update to the ICs which will be completed at a future date.

For inquiring minds, the two-channel system will now consist of:

Power Management
- BPT-2.5 balanced power for entire system (20 Amps)

Cables
- Cryogenetically treated AR Master ICs
- Cryogenetically treated Harmonic Technology Pro-11 speaker

Source
- Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi universal player (video and CD transport)
- Motorola HD cable box (40 music channels)
- Museatex Bitstream DAC (full mods and Black Gate caps)

Preamplifier
- Simaudio Moon P-5

Active Crossover
- dbx 120x

Power Amplifier
- Simaudio Moon W-3

Speakers
- Dynaudio Contour S1.4
- Two (2) SVS PC-Ultra

Acoustical Environment
- Eleven (11) DIY tube traps (in various states of completion)

As I compose this message, the recent Museatex DAC and Simaudio P-5 acquisitions will be or are in transit to my residence. I am looking forward to the addition of these components to the system.

The HT components comprising the remainder of the system can wait for an upgrade at a future date. The first casualty will be the SSP from the middle of the last decade…

Once again, thanks for all the input and information provided.

JM

Edit: Add cable information

I was kinda leaning that way...just beacause..!!

Not that I actually need two of these monsters , one is more than enough

Mldennison,

Two components detailed above will be or are in transit ...

Beardog03,

For the L+R signal path, I am using the dbx active crossover; LF to the PCU and HF to the W-3/Dyns. One PCU is placed behind each of the L+R speakers. Hookup was easy, integrating both required some time and patience.

In addition, the SSP has the front set to large, the remainder of the speakers set to small and the sub set to yes. The LFE is split and sent to each sub. Works like a charm.
