1st place baby! :D Thats one for Club Polk! Not bad for my very first competition!

Had a good turn out for this show, in fact this was the largest USACi show to date in Region 3. Thats kicks ass because now theyll do this show every year in my area.

Had a ton of SPL competitors. The biggest number of the night was 164.

Here is one of the chicks that competed. There were 4 I believe and all won trophies but this chick (kinda cute too) had the highest. 149.9. This is her 2nd run where she only hit a 146.

Im looking forward to the next show. MECA has one about 70 miles from me Dec 31 so Ill try that one and see if my luck still holds.

LOL!! Nah. I really like SPL cause not only is it fun to watch but it drives this industry and it draws spectators to shows so Ill support SPL as much as I can. That being said, I doubt Ill ever compete in it at least seriously. Ive always been into SQ and consider it the purist form of car audio.

I wont say "never" tho. I wouldnt be suprised if one day I took a DB212-2 and threw it in the back seat and took a trip thru the lanes.

There was a Hummer there for the car show class that had a 212-2 in the back. It looked mean as hell. I still think those are the best looking premade boxes ever!

Hey mac in the class you was in what were the requirements of the install? Did you have to show pictures of your installation to them? Like show that your wires were tied off every six inch's. Another thing im wondering is can your wires be tied off every six inch's without having to be tied to the body?

We were running way behind because out of 5 judges, only 1 showed up so he cut corners.

However, normally in my class I wouldve had to do a presentation of my system layout and all. He checked the battery and connection then checked my amps and made sure they were secure and all wires were terminated properly.

Its my rookie understanding that you dont have to have pictures but if you want full points for install youre better off with them.

USACi has a new class, Q, which is just sound quality only. They judge the installation for safety only and then listen to the system. No creativity or presentation, just listening. This is the class Ill be entering from now on.

Ill also be in MECA's stock class. I like them because they classify a car by its modifications so I can keep my speakers in the doors (for now) and not have to worry about going up against somebody with a 10 speaker front stage and all fiberglass kicks and what not.

Shows in December. That's something we don't have up here. SQ season was always dead between Finals and SBN (or AudioThunder if you liked to freeze). Now it's dead year- round...

Obviously with those speakers you won't have any problems winning any other shows, either. :D

Well, actual SQ is not my problem. Everybody that listened to them were impressed. The event promoter saw I had them because I made up a diagram of my system layout and the first thing he said was, "damn those are clean."

Right now my only obstacle is staging and imaging. With the mids in the doors my stage is still a little to far to the left. However I did get points for my stage extending beyond the interior of the truck!! MECA's Stock class doesnt allow for custom installed mids so I will be on a level playing field with other guys using stock speaker locations.

Also, there have never been a lot of shows in this area until this year. USACi was reluctant to put on a show in Chattanooga (actually Cleveland 20 miles north of Chatt) but when people kept pouring in he (USACi regional director) was very impressed. As a result he's already promised more shows in this area and MECA has been putting more and more shows on around here for the last few months.

This is outstanding because if there are enough shows locally I can earn some decent points and maybe even go to finals!
