I am POSITIVE that BHD will be a much better Film. Real action compared to larger-than-life Armageddon type popcorn action (BEL).
Although, I did pick up BEL today also. Looking forward to popcorn style action/fun.
Peace Out~:D

for the price tag of $14.99 I will give it a try, btw, if you buy "the thin red line" with this movie together, you can knock off another $5 bucks...

BEL has Owen Wilson, who -- along with Steve Zahn -- is one of my favorite young actors. He's full of great acting ability (see BOTTLE ROCKET). And it has Hackman.
But you know what? I'm sure BEL is gonna suck.
Let us know. Any cool surround sound/heavy bass scenes?

BEL sucked in my opinion. it was full of inaccuracies, but most of you probably wouldn't notice them. the only reason i did is because my brother is a navy fighter pilot with VFA-37 "Bulls" and i know alot about the stuff that goes on in this movie. for example, the plane they're flying is an F-18 hornet dual seater. sure, they make F-18 dual seaters, but they're used for training only. all fleet planes are single seaters with only 1 pilot who does everything (navigation, weapons, etc...) another thing is the guy evading in daylight. all pilots go through SERE (i know there are a couple of 'Nam chopper pilots here, they can tell you) wich stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape. one of the most basic fundamentals of SERE is NOT traveling during daylight--you hide in the day and travel by night. well, enough of that. just my .02.

Putting all accuracies aside. Which, when going into a movie like this, you should not expect any. It was an enjoyable action flick, lazy Armageddon style, over the top, larger than life type action. A decent Popcorn flick. Much more enjoyable than say....Training Day.
So, if you like Armageddon style type films, you'll most likely enjoy this one, if not, don't bother.
Peace Out~:D

Watched it last night, one of those movie with predictable ending, another word it belongs to Micah's suck list. A lot of actions with special effects, great shots and photography works on the Jet and those SAMs missiles, a lot of explosions, these stuffs give your system a good work out, the story is C- and acting is D. sound is B+ (incl DTS 5.1 and DD 5.1) Gene Hackman wasted his time to be in this one, he can do better than that ...

Hackman can do and has done much better, but I still enjoy him onscreen. He is one of my favs as far as actors go. It's a fun popcorn flick and nothing more.
...and yes the SAM and F-18 sequence was kick-ass. I love that stuff. Makes the purchase worth it for me.
Peace out~:D

Good action movie! :D I noticed that it wasn't that accurate in the depiction of the Navy, but then I see commercials on TV saying, "Has anyone made a movie out of your life?, see BEL, now on DVD," so I was wondering if the Navy sponsored it. You would think that it would be more accurate. Well whatever, it is a good flick and for $16, I am not mad for spending the money!

I watched this Thurs. night. Another "waste of time movie" at least for me. It jumped from scene to scene. It was really frusterating. One minute the guy is hanging on a steel pipe dodging sniper fire, next he is running through the woods?????? Unfortunatly I only saw it on VHS so it was a terrible sound experiance.

I heard the DTS soundtrack is reference quality. I need it just for that :D

I watched this movie twice. Once with dts, once with dd. I found the dd track to have a better, harder low-end punch than the dts track. It is rare, but I prefer the dd track on this title better than the dts track.

I just picked this one up at Wal-Mart for under $10. The print quality is superb, and the audio (especially DTS) is incredible! Okay, so it's a brain-checker at the door, but pretty darn entertaining after you do that, IMO.

I like Owen Wilson and Hackman, so I found it fairly entertaining. But in general it was kind of dumb.
I never take a movie seriously unless it's about I true event in history (and then I would only critique it if I knew something of the subject). They are trying to entertain you, not give you a history lesson. In that manor, it was ok.
I was going to say that I wouldn't have paid $16 for it (until I saw the post was started over a month ago). For under $10 in the bargin bin, it's one I may add to the collection (I already have worse that I paid less for).
