I just landed a huge bargain on a replacement projector for my home theatre. I was in need of a new bulb ($300) for my Epson and happened to stop by Good Guys on their last day in business. While in the checkout line, I looked down and noticed a Mitsubishi HC3 LCD Projector new in box and unopened. I'd seen it in the store previously and had done my homework on it. It's a very bright 1,300 lumens (much brighter than the 1200 lumen Epson I had). It has native 16:9 LCD panels which gives it a much higher pixel density when watching widescreen movies. After asking how much?, I couldn't say "I'll buy it!" fast enough. This projector was originally introduced at $2,800 and had a price drop earlier this year to $1,000. I paid $360. :D
...anyone want to buy a used Epson projector that needs a new bulb soon? :p

I thought about having a projector, but the size of the room it would be in, plus having to deal with blocking light from a sliding glass door and window... I just decided getting a regular TV was easier to deal with. But sometimes I wish I had gotten a projector *sigh*

With DLP projectors and lower lumen LCD projectors, light can be an issue. This was the case with my old Epson. Basically no movies during the day. I was actually thinking about getting blackout curtains. This projector has changed my mind on that. I still have regular blinds on the two windows but the light output is very impressive and I don't think I'll need the blackout curtains.
