I was doing some clean up today and opened all my components to get the dust out....thought I would share these nice pictures of the Cambridge Audio D500 SE; looks really cool ....
I am really happy with the sound of this player, but I know many people here have modded their players and heard improvements; any suggestions on what could be done to this one???

yep, the ultimate mod--an external DAC. D500's make excellent transports.

well...that would take it to several hundreds $$$$, and I was thinking on maybe changing some of the components, as to improve the internal DAC...

I don't think theres much you can do to improve it, it's a fine player; maybe mess with isolation--brass cone feet, something along those lines; upgrade the power cord if you're into that. It's a great player.

I guess it will stay as is; as mentioned, I am really happy; was just wondering if something could make it even better without spending much.
So...you know that it's a great player, but still recommend an external DAC...can you really get an improvement worth the cost of, let's say a benchmark????
