man what a difference. This sacd is far better than the 2ch.I have lsi 25 for fronts and lsi center and rears and the 2 channel sounded Bogus.I took it back and they let me get another sacd(cool) but this sacd rocks. The samsung 841 not the best sacd player around but its not as bad as some reviews ive read. Have a good Christmas and to all good night...

Those that don't know, don't know that they don't know.

i prefer sacd and multi-channel to 2ch. as well but F1's got a great point.

If the software support isn't there, what does it matter?
Like crying wolf and nobody hears.

Well, I think you missed my point. I love SACD, I love 2 channel and I find multi-channel to sound fake. Therefore my point is that those who haven't experienced music on a nice 2 channel rig don't know that multi-channel falls short of the real deal.

Live music doesn't come from the sides or back, just the front and with a nice 2 channel set up you get the natural reflections as you would at a live event, not someones idea of what those reflections might be. Worse yet are the multi-channel recordings that put you in the middle of the stage....ugh! Sure multi-channel music has a certain wow factor, but it's an effect.

I have the SACD in question, sounds anything but bogus on my rig.

I do agree about the lack of software unless one is into classical in a big way, but I understand why it is that way. Those are the people buying SACD's.

My system i have here is not a super system but its better than average and what i was saying about the 2 channel beck is i have alot of cd's and you can tell a good production as well as a bad one and compared to other cd's i have it sounded bad. How much money does it take to make a 15 buck cd sound good?

Mini,

You have some great speaks, the Samsung is great to get you started. I had a Panasonic way back in the day to get me started on High Rez. I know several here, myself included who started with the hook of multi-channel and then came back to 2 ch.

How much does it take?

Quick go run now!!!! ;) No diss meant to Redbook or its fans, but SACD on quality gear simply rocks, it just cant itself, its better.
