in case some didnt know, there is a new pre pro from outlaw, apparently this is the reciever, without amp sections, with tweaked software. this seems to be a pretty good performance bargain for 699.00. seems to be a great way to go seperates for home theater on a budget.

doesnt have a phono input or balanced outputs like the 990. Hey, I dont use either of em in my theater. I'll stick with my 950 for now, but If I need another one, this will be on my shortlist.

The 990 was going to be on my short list of new pre/pro's. For my needs, the 970 may end up fitting the bill. (trying to pull of a new tv for my next purchase though, so I will have time for one of ya'all to give a review of it compared to the 950 and 990. :) )

Thanks in advance,

Michael

I've never heard anyone bad mouth them, maybe the occasional "its not my cup of tea" but thats it. my 950 seems very neutral sounding, which is the way I prefer my theater to sound, as opposed to on the warmer side for my 2 channel listening.

My Outlaw 950 isnt going anywhere soon, and it seems I would have to spend over 1500 to get something that might be an upgrade sonically (as opposed to features)

you get alot of bang for the buck no matter what product you get from them.
