Up for grabs is a copy of Civilization III and its expansion pack Conquests. This is the PC version. System requirements aren't very high, so unless you own a dinosaur of a PC, you should be able to play this.
Disclaimer: This game is highly addictive, and I promise to the winner, it will cut into your sleeping, leading to less productivity at work, and time away from your family. I am kinda serious too.
The Conquests expansion pack includes all of the previously released expansions. Basically its the top expansion pack. It has extra scenarios as well as multiplayer ability.
The rules:
1) Must not own Civ III
2) Must promise to play it
3) Must be an active member of the Polk Forum
4) Must be an 'established member', of which I will determine if necessary
Drawing ends, oh, when I say so on Saturday

Mr. Nightly, you are going to either totally hate or totally love Civ4. I had it since launch day, and I haven't played any other PC games since. Its such a great game. The strategy is totally different, but over all, its a much improved game. I find that unlike with Civ3, you can't totally ignore anyone part of your strategy. More emphasis is placed on military too. Civ3 is still outstanding, but its almost as if Civ4 is its own game, and less of a sequel.
HTrook, AoE is a RTS whereas Civ3 is turned based. Yes, Civ is better, but both are pretty good. The similarities are there, but its a whole different monster altogether.

Wow, excellent news!!! I pretty much mastered Civ3 (Beat it on Diety once), to a point where i didn't have to do anything but expand expand expand for the first while, then could just overpower everyone with military, and since i had so many cities, tech just came natural. I can't wait for 4. Anything else you have noticed about it, and want to share?
Speaking of AoE.. got the demo for AoE3. Pretty kickass. I never really got into the first two, but the third one is addictive. Thinking about picking up the third too... Dawn of War was a fun RTS... Not to sidetrack anything...

This thread pricked my interest in this game, so I picked "Civ III Complete" up today x 2...
Time one was at BB for $29.99, but it's going back as Wal-Mart had it for $19.99...
