Buckle up for what could be a wild ride.

Folks 'round here don't take too kindly to trying to make a buck on your first post, on the other hand the 5000 is a nice set.

You will do better if you tell where "local" is and post pics.

they have had very little use

Not directed at you personally, but I always find statements like this insanely funny.
It’s either “Barely used at all” or “I’ve never cranked it up in my smoke, pet, child free, febrezed,
blah blah etc. dedicated home theater room.

Spend thousands on equip and hardly use it? Give me a break!

I don't find that hard to believe at all. I just have to look as far as my living room. My HT built entirely with separates (and like above using RT3000p fronts) is no slouch but it's lucky if it sees 24 hrs of use a year... ;)

Hint: I have other systems that interest me more. :)

So put it out of it’s misery and sell it to me. :)

$3k isn't that great of a price based on them going for just over that as a new set from prices I'd seen towards the end of their run.

Good luck though......

That's true that the price is a bit high.

However, as mutch as the last ditch clearance price helped Polk and dealers clear the way for new stock, can you still find them brand new at dealers for that price? Most likely not, so that purchase option is no longer open to potential buyers. Did everyone get theirs for that final clearance deal price? Not hardly, so they might insist on getting a bit better price for them than those selling who did get the deal. Doesn't mean they'll always get it esspecialy if they need or want a quick turnover.

I know that if I were to put my 3000s up for sale I wouldn't be asking half price for them but you can bet I wouldn't be giving them away either. Or they'd go nowhere. :)

I think it is a bit high also, I got mine with z-wires for $2000.00 locally and they were/are in great shape.
So where is local?

I paid $2,350 last year for the complete RT5000 set in great shape. Came with a Monster Power Center and about 100ft of Monster 12gauge speaker cable and 4 Monster Sub interconnects. $3,000 seems a bit high.

To answer some of your conserns these were purchased for my suroundsound room and I have a anolog room as well so when I say little use I mean we rent or watch a total of 5-8 movies a month do the math I have a life outside of my home so these are low time considering my brother who waches TV all day and as for location they are located in Mount Bethel PA only 2 miles from RT80 exit 4 in NJ, These are from a no smoking home and for the price the last RT 5000 system to sell sold for the same price on EBay so if you have any other questions or are interested in them give me a email at tlarsen@epix.net Thanks Tim !!!

No it didn't. I just bought a mint Rt5000 system for $2000 with shipping two days ago. $3000 is way to much for a used RT5000 system. Good luck selling it but not at that price.
