Does anybody use a humidifier/dehumidifier/air purifier to keep the environment clean around your audio gear? I did a major cleanup of all my components after many many years of neglect and removed quite a bit of dust from the outside and the inside of the gear. All my components are rack-mount and stacked one over the other so it's not that I could have passed a dust rag over them regularly.

i dust the whole place once a week- audio gear 2-3 times a week.. and use 2 humidifiers in a 1100 sq.ft. apt. It helps with the air you breathe and your health in general.

we went through a few different room air cleaners before we worked our way up to the kenmore nano-silver hepa about 2 years ago. it looks like this:
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@0887303713.1138238035@ @@@&BV_EngineID=ccghaddgldlkjmgcegecegjdghldfoo.0&adCell=P3&pid=03285501000&vertical=APPL&ihtoken=1
it warns you when hepa filter needs to be changed and continuously senses dust and odor, then auto-adjusts fan speed as needed. the fan normally runs on low speed, which is as quiet or quieter than any room air cleaner we've used short of ionic breeze. it kicks the ionic breeze's butt as far as air quality goes though, it's not even close. and, it has a remote control, so you can kill it from the listening position.
this one's a keeper.
