I think the seller would do much better by splitting them up into pairs and selling that way. Tougher to sell an entire system like that.

Yeah John, I saw those and thought the same thing. Although if someone really wants two pairs of maple rt55i they might jump on them. I doubt if he would get $1100 selling them all seperately though...especially not with only 4 feedbacks.
They look mighty nice though. If I were local I might have to contact after that auction ends "unsold." I would love to have the maples.

How about we NOT link to every Ebay auction that involves Polk speakers?
I mean, if you want to talk about speakers, we've got a forum for that.
I don't say this to be a jerk but.....

And I say POST the good deals from e-bay on here. That's how I got my SVS subs...because someone on the forum was nice enough to mention it here. Same thing goes for the 3.2 tl's that I got. Don't you want to see good speakers, or any other equipment for the matter, go to a forum member?

...and I say, sure, the exotic, off the wall finds...SURE.
However, RT55's, RT800's and so forth, man, they are FAR from rare. If you want a pair, get off your arse and look for them. I mean, any moron with an internet connection can search ebay for Polk speakers.
If you want to DISCUSS them, we've got a speaker forum.
Yes, I'm all for helping out a fellow Polkie but, geeze, man, does that mean we have to spoon feed everyone?

There have been about 10 pair of 800s listed in the last month. Keep your eyes open. Same with the 55s.

Troy, I wouldn't call it spoon feeding, just a courteous service. I work 6 days a week and usually 65-75 hours per week. My only day off is on Monday and on that day I have to catch up on all the errands and duties that have accumulated over the week. (That's why it's taking me so long to get my system set up) And yes I can take time off if I want to, that's how I got to pick up my subs in Michigan, the SRS in Ohio, and the 2.3's in Ontario. However, I don't have a money tree in the back yard and need to make up for these expenditures with time at work.
I get home at 10 p.m. and I'm on the net for a few hours and then back up at 6 a.m. By the time I read the posts on this forum and my powered parachute forum, there isn't much time to check e-bay thoroughly.
And now, I gotta get back to work....lunch is over.

Its easier to do a search on e-bay. Polk speakers are not rare. They are after-all the Speaker Specialists. Those few rare 1.2 tl, or something like that sure. I usually just ignore the e-bay link posts. They really dont hurt anybody, except in the Flea Market when members get their stuff bumped to the back pages to quickly. Then when the member bumps their post back to the first page I have seen someone offering a "lowball" because of the bump.

Look, Ted hit the nail on the head.
I agree with my esteemed amigo John, sure, if there is a great deal on something rare (Model 9's or early Monitors etc..other than a few SRS models I wouldn't even call SDA's rare), sure, but there are VERY few Polk speakers that are rare. I mean, RTi's are a dime a dozen. If you need a pair there are tons of them.
The extraneous post are a waste of time. Period. They clog up the FM and detract from those who are trying to use it for it's intended purpose.
Cry me a freakin' river already. I work 5 13hr shifts a week too but am I whining because I don't have time to search for that elusive pair of RTi4's?? I just did a search for 'Polk' on both Ebay AND A-gon. 4 mins and about 30 seconds. Course YMMV since you probably have dialup and it goes uphill, both ways. ;)
Again, you guys do whatever you want, I was just offering my opinion.....I'm out.

You? AGAIN?
Don't you have some cables to listen to? More questions to avoid answering?
I'm NOT upset. I take this forum with a healthy dose of seriousness and don't want to see it turn into a spam-fest, clogged up with non-sensical posts which, given time, will run off the contributing members because they don't want to wade through a ton of useless crap.
I'm merely trying to help things on an even keel. I understand that a new person might get his feelings hurt with a little constructive criticism. You, for example, made what you probably thought as an insightful observation regarding cables. Okay, fine, you want to lob a grenade at more experienced members? Fine. However, you gotta be prepared to defend your position, which you, obviously, could not.
Now, since you want to call me out, more than once now. Okay, I'm blunt, sure. There are even people that I dislike and more than a few that probably don't care for me either. As far as the forum goes though, I've devoted a lot of time and money in support of this forum so I don't feel a damn bit bad about offering my opinion where I think it's warranted so I really don't give a rats ass if you think I'm grumpy or not.

You might make it here, I thought you were showing signs of being an excellent dedicated new member but I am beginning to wonder. How many audio articles have you written for the Polk Newspaper?? I can tell you BDT has. How many times has your Mrs. put up with Polkies tearing the house up and then got up and cooked for them the next morning? His has and more than once. I would recommend you "make your bones here" prior to telling him how to use his computer or surf the forum. Disagreements are fine, telling others especially one of the guys who more or less made this place well, you had a moment of indiscretion there. It happens move on.
Oh yea, You are Whining,

I think I am a dedicated member...heck I read this forum every single night and I'll log on when I get a chance at work. I fell in love with the SRS and now I've also got a pair of 2.3 tl's and working on getting a Polk center channel...I guess that makes me a Polkster.
I didn't think the Kurtz guy was out of line linking a Polk product on E-bay to a Polk forum. Troy will need to realize that there are all kinds of folks on this forum, and a post that may interest me may not interest him. In my opinion as long as it sticks with subjects pertaining to what this forum is based on, and not a ram-air intake manifold, then it's ok. Should I be denied the priviledge of reading it? If I have no interest in it, I skip it.
I am sorry if I offended Troy, it was not my intention.

I like it when people post the way that I want them to. I don't like it when people post about items or topics that I don't have an interest in. Please take into consideration the latter of those two very important sentences when contemplating your next post. Understand that I want for you to make it here, because I think that you have potential. Don't disappoint me, I don't like disappointment.
By the way, does anyone have a carburator from a '71 Dodge Dart that they would like to sell me? If so, please respond to me in my next thread, where I'll attempt to sell the heating element from one of my toasters.

OK - I realize that trying to sell all of these at the same time was a bad idea, but I have sold other systems in their entirety on ebay. Oh well. I will split them up now.
2 pair of MINT maples, one pair of blacks, on with a blemish on corner on the rear end of the speaker. Also, the twin subs - PSW 250's. ( I know they are basic, but, believe it or not, run in stereo they actually sound decent. Solo they kinda blow, but you already know that. :D

Depends how bad you want them.
Maple's are pretty rare, but common black ones sell for $150-$250 all the time. He's probably not too far off on his price considering they are in (supposedly) perfect shape and he has original boxes.
