I have an opportunity to pick up a CS350LS center channel speaker.
I currently have a CS245i, which is timbre matched well to my RT2000i mains, but seems a bit small.
Would the CS350LS represent a considerable improvement? Anyone know about the timbre match?
OR... should I just save up and go for a CS400i or a CS1000P?
any opinions welcome....
Thanks,
David

I have a buddy that has one and loves it.....1" trilam tweet (same as 245i and 400i) and 4X5.25 (I think) drivers. I've heard it and really like it.
Only drawback that I see is the size.

Awesome center, 4x 4.5inch drivers there BDT.....
I wouldn't even think about the 245, if the 350 was available, snag it up. You can liquidate it EASY here on the forum, should need be.

Russ speaks the truth, I had one of this baby, you can't go wrong with the CS350.

the cs350 is a good sounding center. It has good placement options like upsidedown and everything. But the cs400 and cs1000p would better match your speaker's.Not that the cs350 won't, but the 400 and 1000 would do it better.

have the 350 with 800i's and they sound great together...the 350 is one great speaker and really puts out the sound

if you get the cs350, will you be selling the cs245i?

Yes dlew308, I do plan to sell the 245 if I get the 350. a) are you interested, and b) what do you think would be a fair asking price?
mantis,
I hear you and I think that you're right. The 400 or the 1000 would prpbably match better.... but with the chance to pick up a good 350 used, and the 400 or 1000 costing a lot of jing. I just think that I need something for my dedicated home theater that puts out a little more firepower than the 245 has. Agreed?

Agreed....the 350 is a great center, isn't a perfect match but not discernibly so. If it can be had on the cheap...get it.

All Day,
It is a clean and clear sounding center,
It won't be that far off........most people can't here it anyway(not that you can't or won't).
It's about the beer, pop corn...the sexy lady next to you...after the lights go down anyway.Enjoying a good movie.

I'm interested, my quest to find one has been futile so far. Russman's tried twice, but no luck, and those were going for $100 plus shipping.

I was bidding on the unit on ebay... The bidding went up to 266 dollars plus shipping by the end. That's a bit beyond what I was willing to pay for it. I' thinking about just going with the cs400i. I can get one of those 'new in box' for about that price.
