Anyone here use Marantz for a rcv'r? I recently purchased the SR 4600 and want feedback from others.

Don't have one here, but frequently wish I did. They've got plenty features and that nice warm Marantz sound. Good receivers, as far as entry-level receivers go.

Marantz makes good, solid receivers with nice sound for music especially. I wouldn't recommend anything beneath the SR8500 for serious music listeners, or those with 4 ohm speakers, but the 4600 is a nice entry level piece. I much prefer Marantz to Denon, and the SR8500 is vastly superior to the Denon 3805 in sound quality, while only being $300 more. Not sure the comparison is so drastic at the lower levels, but it's still there.

Yes, I'm a Marantz lover too. :)
I have the sr6300. It's functioning as a pre-pro now but was the start of everything in my audio set-up.

At some point I got an old BK-cs117 pre for music and relegated the Marantz to HT. But when I upgraded the powercord and added a powerconditioner, the Marantz shined again. Now it's back as the heart of the system both in Music and HT. :)

Unfortunately, Marantz is no longer available in my country which kinda sucks. Hope they find a new distributor.

Unless, of course, you prefer Pioneer, H/K, Denon, or Yamaha or something else... ;)

I dont have your model but I have a Marantz 8400. Built really well...toroidal, copper chassis etc....sounds very nice as well. Very good preamp section....sound is NOT as warm as HK but may mate better with the hgher end speakers that are not as bright as run of the mill types of speakers. Their user interface is a bit clumsy in my opinion. Prefer the HK or Rotel interfaces...

I have a SR6200. I really like it. I use the front preouts to a Halo A21, and the receiver powers the center and surrounds. Nice neutral sound, good features, it is a little clumsy to use as someone pointed out.

My Marantz 2325 built in Oct. 76 still sounds great! Very conservatively rated at 125 wpc.
