I leave my electronics on all the time.
This keeps them at a constant temp
and helps from problems that could arise
when they are cycled on and off.
You know, heating and cooling, expansion
and contraction that can also lead to problems
within circuits.
I was wondering if others followed this practice.
What say you?

Make a judgement call based on you electric bill.
Mine is off till needed.
I like the whole ritual of turning it on and off, watching everything power up and down is kind of sensual.
I like to watch.

:D Me too, and during that initial surge when all the amps are switching on, there is a bit of a light show, everything dims for a fraction of a second....Really Cool
I asked our esteemed Polk Guru this question and he said that he'd tried it both ways with only one noticeable difference - the room temperature was warmer with everything on all the time ;)
He also said something that kind of stuck with me - he compared gear to lightbulbs. When do lightbulbs blow most often? When you turn them on, right? This made perfect sense to me as my Rotel amp died right after I turned it on - click - pop - dead.
I leave my Parasound on all the time but I shut down my tube CDP when I'm not using it as I feel this would shorten the lives of the tubes.
Do whatcha wanna do :)

I leave my DAC on, just for convenience, it has no power switch. Everything else gets powered down.
