2 blind purchases and i liked them both.
everyone kept telling me how i should watch Goodfellas, and it is pretty good. I don't know if I would call it great but it's up there. I remember back in the day when everyone said the movie was robbed of the Oscar to Dances With Wolves. Since Dances is one of my all time favorites, that put me over the top in FINALLY watching this cool-ass gangster flick. But in the end, i still say Dances With Wolves deserved that oscar. Sorry Scorcese.
Apollo13 was really cool. I knew the whole history behind it but the movie still kept me guessing and guessing- it was another good Ron Howard film.

Apollo 13 is one of my all time fave movies... back when Ronny Howard was at his prime in terms of directing. Did you get the DTS version of Apollo 13, or the DD version? The DTS version is worth seeking out.

Goodfellas was a classic. Tony Soprano learned from the best.

I own both of those. Great movies.
mrmusicman, agreed on TV editing. Everytime a movie I own comes on TV that i want to watch, I'll put in the DVD.

When I bought my DVD player back in 2001, I bought Goodfellas and The Fugitive at the same time!

If you really liked Apollo 13, you should consider renting - or buying - the HBO series From the Earth to the Moon (Signature Edition) available on DVD (5-DVD set). It's awesome and available in DTS. The series is based on the development of the space program through the sixties and early seventies. Tom Hanks is the executive producer of the series.

The special edition they just released not too long ago has two discs: one is the regular version with DD and the other is the IMAX version with DTS.
