Watched this last night... no spoilers here.
Whoa! Lots going on here in terms of predjudices, race realtions, miscommunication, biases and stereotypes. with that said.. I was impressed with this movie and for the most part enjoyed it.
I was disappointed in the ending though.. the last two or three minutes of the movie was pretty lame.
Check it out, there's lots of food for thought in the movie.

Meh, probably too common a term, not that easy to find :) Plus, like you said, old. I only knew it existed because I remembered participating in it.

One of the worst movies ever.
can you expand on why you thought it was of the worst movies ever? Just curious is all.
If you just hated it for several reason's.. that's cool.. but giving a reason does enlighten us all. :)

It's only going to lead to more senseless arguments, and there has been way too much baiting going on lately with regards to that.
Everyone connects the dots differently, and frankly I know exactly why Mac hated the movie without him even saying it. Different walks of life, and thusly we all react to it differently.

I think i'll post in the original thread instead.. makes more sense to me.
I wasn't baiting anyone. i honestly want to know why someone would hate this movie so strongly.

because me smart like fish, i'll swallow hook, line and sinker. i also have no fear when it comes to posting in two separate threads about the same movie. i liked it. alot of people i know swear by this movie being shown in the likes of high schools to expose young adolescents to this type of racism so that they can spark open discussions. not like these kids don't live it every single day of their lives. i thought the movie was fun. i enjoyed all of the racist actions, yet don't condone them. i even laughed when the lady made fun of the asian chick about her english and thick accent. (i'm part asian) i thought it was funny, and accurate. but to see it happen in real life is another story. most of the time it's all part of folk messin' around. but when it gets serious, it gets ugly. i take jokes toward me and don't think twice about it. but there are times when a person or persons take it too far. that's when you just physically push them away. if they keep on, just stick them square in the sternum. racism can get out of hand at times. but sometimes i feel you need thicker skin to survive here in club polk than you do out in the racist world. anyway, i liked the movie.

The problem is it's like racism for dummies. Teh kind of racism that's dangerous and prevelant in modern society ISN'T like that. If you think it is, you listen to too much NPR. If you act like most of the people in t his movie acted, you would just be shunned in a modern society, and no one would pay attention to you except to mock you as an ignorant slob. A person who is racist that MATTERS nowadays is someone who never says anything,b ut bases their hiring policies, or their decision to give a speeding ticket, or something subtle like that, on race.
It diminishes the "message" they're trying to portray when they treat you like an absolute moron and spoon-feed you every bit of information. "Don't think for yourself, people, we'll spell out every last detail." People say this movie makes you "think", I say it takes away your ability to think.
