No affil just ran across the ad and these are probably the nicest RTA-12's you'll likely see. Nice description as well as many photo's. Nice

It's definetly an excellent looking pair, but they will most likely be over what they are worth.

Yes the price is very high for these....I'm sure BlueMD's are nice as well since he got them from you :) , but he already broke the pins off  :D

Listening to mine right now. They're a hell of a good sounding speaker, easily besting all of the newer Polks that I've heard, all of the old Monitor series that I've heard (5,7,10,12) as well as the CRS+. Coherent from top to bottom. Big, fast bass, articulate mids and a very well-understood stage. Peerless tweeters or the new SL2000 upgrades round out the package nicely. They're also very enjoyable to look at. For a pair in excellent shape I'd pay $500, but obviously that's over-paying in the market. It's interesting how people respond to such a advertisement. His time and effort to pump up the speaker seems to have paid off.

The 12Cs I bought from Mark are, quite literally, new in the box (with upgraded silk dome tweeters.)

Pins are fixed -- thanks to Jesse for the parts. I changed out the non-broken ones as well for uniformity. I'm anal that way.

I too am listening to my RTA 12C. Thanks to this forum, I have rediscovered my polks. Bought new in 1986/87 these speakers are older than my youngest son and I have one repair to make, a broken pastic pin to hold the top hat. Looking at the pictures of the ebay speakers, mine are just as clean and without defect. I sat my son down and put on some music. I told him where the different instruments were as they came on and told him that was what was meant by sound stage and he said "wow, that's cool".

At that monent, friends, the world was right even for just a moment!!!

Here are the ones I used. I did not use the socket cup in the hat frame. The pin fits great.

Those are damn near drop-in replacements. I split a batch with that old man.

Jeeze, the auction linked above is really going to blow the average sale price for RTA12 out of the water! I've been watching 12s for about 3 months and most of the recent auctions have went for less than $200 (some around $100)

Thanks for the link. pins will be bought tomorrow.

Just trying to teach my kid that there is more to sound than how many cars around you can hear your woofers even if it irritates them.

Boom, boom-boom, boom. geez, enough already:(
