Alright, I promise this will be my last "ego" thread unless something really cool happens or its another big show like regionals or finals.
First off, we here at Club Polk have a nationals first place trophy for our case! That new head unit came in real handy too as I won by a pretty wide margin. Closest competitor was nearly 10 points (70 point scale) behind me! I also won the Most Improved award for increasing my score 8.5 points! I got an 8 for my stage which is about as good as I can get without moving my speakers so now I have to turn to tonal accuracy which is going to be a bitch. That means Im going to have to spend even more money on a spiffy 30 band EQ or something!
OK, enough about me. There were 200 competitors and 600 show cars at the event. I mean this thing was huge! So big I didnt get a chance to see it all.
We had a very good SPL competition with several 155+'s and the loudest Ive heard yet; 170 by a Team Maxxsonics rig!!! I didnt get a chance to see what he was running but from what I understand its all Hifonics! There was a hearse (spelling?) yes the thing that hauls around dead bodies, and it hit 160.
I got another chance to listen to a world champ's car too. Kirk Proffit has a smokin system in his Acura TL. Zapco amps, Seas speakers, Audiocontrol processors, dual DD 12's and FACTORY HEAD UNIT! But man oh man did his system sound sweet! The most accurate and precise soundstage Ive heard yet! David Morgan (another world champ and bud of Gary Biggs) was also there with his Silverado and smokin' system. Ive been lucky to hang with both these guys at the last 2 shows and have learned a lot from them.
Bottom line, my first national event was a great time. I blew too much money including a GAWDAMNED SPEEDING TICKET for $168!!! Mother******* worthless Kentucky state troopers! Still it was worth it but I have a new hatred for state cops.
Ill post some pictures shortly.
