What's up yall. I'm currently looking to upgrade my component speakers in a 97 Nissan Pathfinder SE (without bose system). I know it's been a long time overdue. I'm unsure if the MMC6 will fit in my front, and from the crutchfield site the MMC6500 supposedly fit. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with more knowledge on the MMC6 being able to fit and the differences in the quality of these two component sets. I plan on powering them with nominal 60W RMS a piece, I believe that is enough. Thanks for your time and help.

1) it's just MM6, they're 2 different lines of speakers

2) i own and love the mm6, but the mmc6500 is supposed to be even better - i would go with that; fit is then not an issue

3) consider giving them more power, it truly opens up the music, even if you don't play it very loud

The MM6 are some pretty amazing sounding and incredibly well-built component speakers, but they're older and no longer in production. While that means you can find some great deals on them (if anybody still has any), the MMC6500 are the newer, and even better speakers, and they're not that expensive.

If money's not much of an issue, I'd go with the MMC6500. If it is, make sure you can make the MM6 fit (which you most likely can with some patience and ingenuity), and buy some of them.

I would also suggest given them more than 60watts a corner. Now, if you meant 60watts per driver (i.e., 120watts a corner), that'd be a plenty.

Thanks for the help fellas. I believe I will go with the MMC6500 for the fronts and now I'm thinking I might want to do the MMC650 in the rear but again they say they won't fit in my 97 Pathfinder (from Crutchfield). I've never installed car speakers before and want to make sure I'm not going in over my head, if I go ahead and order these. On the amp side I'm now thinking about purchasing the c400.4 from car domain with the coupon above, will this be a sweet setup. Let me know if you have any helpful ideas or suggestions on anything. Thanks again your advice really helps.

in a pathfinder, i will for once not reccommend you go with only front speakers... weird...

anyways, yes, that would be a killer setup... as far as fit...

go to this (http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38337) thread, read posts #2 and #3, that should answer your fit questions...

I highly recommend AGAINST buying from Ebay. Stick to an authorized dealer. Not only are you guranteed of getting brand-spankin-new-in-the-box stuff but youre also getting the full blessing and waranty of Polk.

Sounddomain routinely has great sales on Polk stuff.
