View Full Version : Question on RT/FX grills?

Hello,

I picked up a pair of white RT/FX surrounds recently and I noticed that 3 of the 4 grills have a thin piece of black cloth between the frames and the speaker cloth. It comes out easily enough, but I was wondering if I should leave or remove it? Any ideas? Thanks

mmmm.. hard decission !!!! If you want remove it...do it carefully !!!! ;)

Yeah, my white FX500i's have that too - a black fabric (technically known as a "nonwoven"). I think it's just there to mask the drivers from showing through a white grill cloth. You see it a lot on the grills for in-wall speakers too. I'd just leave it there, unless you want to see the drivers through the grill cloth.
