I bought the non motorized version of this 5 blade. It kicks major butt, the best shave I have ever had, my face felt like I was 12 again...for a couple hrs at least;)
Has any one esle tried this.

No, but how much are they charging for these blades.

every 6 months or so, they add another blade or gimmick... how many blades can they cram on there? 6? 7? 12?

what the hell does the battery do? its a manual razor!!! schick took them to court and they had to drop all claims regarding improved performance due to the battery.

a few months ago I broke down and bought a Braun Activator electric. I'll admit it doesn't get quite as close as the Mach3's I was using before, but its a hell of alot faster and cheaper. I actually shave more often because it isn't such a hassle. I also like the fact that I'm saving quite a bit of money on the blades.

i remember when the mach 3 came out.... awesome awesome awesome
then quattro and i thought the world was slowly, but surely becoming a better place
unfortunately, it just wasn't as good as the Mach 3 (regardless of the extra blade)
good to see a review on this though, because as an American male, i must (nay SHALL) purchase this five-bladed beaut

as an aside, check out this prophetic link written about a year ago:

p.s. there's a little language in this, so tread lightly

I'll eventually try it, I'm pretty satisfied with the Mach 3, and if I like the Fusion I'm afraid of wanting to sehll out even MORE money for new blades.

I'm pretty sure the battery just makes it vibrate lightly. Probably doesn't do jack **** for the actual shaving, but it might feel nice?

Electrics are garbage. I've tried a half a dozen different kinds, and not a one works worth a damn.

Yeah, electrics are terrible. Three times to work for a crappy shave.

love the Mach 3. believe it or not, the battery one makes a difference. I have a rough beard, and the powerred one, for reasons I couldnt even comprehend, cuts through it better. note that standard mach 3 blades fit on it.

the quatro flat out sucks. cant detail around my beard for sh^t with it.
My sister in law's ex boyfriend left 2 quatro razors still in the package at my house and tried it (why did he have 2, unopenned? who knows). Thank got I didnt pay for em. useless!

will try the fusion, I like the single blade for edging, great idea! if the 5 blades together get the job done real well on the rest of my face, might be worth it. thanx for the heads up and review :)

As I said my face is sensitive but I have coarse hair. This puppy left my skin on my face and there was no need to call 911 for massive blood loss. It was the closest shave ever. I'm actually going to say I'm looking forward to shaving again, something I never thought I would say.

this whole thing is just ridiculous. I use the original Mach 3. I tried the turbo Mach3, it doesn't improve the shave AT ALL, dulls much quicker and costs more.

I don't care how many blades the thing has or how great it shaves right out of the box. How does it shave a week later for the 5th time?

If the prices are within reason, I might try this new one, but the Turbo Mach is awful.

have you tried the cryogenically treated razors? I just know someday Gillete will market a *manual razor* with 50 blades and a nuclear reactor in the handle.

With 4 blades I can barely shave my mustache, I'll stick with the good ol 2 bladed system

Shick Protector, great shave and you can't cut yourself. Don't bother looking for them in the stores because they aren't sold in the US anymore. The blades were too expensive (made in Germany), but I've got my sources.

Imported razors! You are a man of refinement. ;)

I love the electric razors, but none can get under the chin/neck for sh!t. The Mach 3 was great, and the battery powered is fan-freakin tastic. Its definately not perfect, but has been, thus far, the best tool for that particular job. I will have to check out the 'fusion' sometime.

I still prefer the Sensor Excel(two blades). Some of these newer ones cut TOO close. I can't stand razor burn and the electrics and certain newer blades give me severe burn and cause in-grown hairs. OUCH!!!!

Sometimes I have to shave twice a day, and it has never been with anything other than one of the Slim-Twins that only have two blades. I splurge on the ones that have the little "push the hairs out" white button so you can kind of unclog them. Five blades? Batteries? Any of you ladies tried them on your legs yet?

personally, I love the motorized ones. The shave is closer on my face. Think about it. When you cut a raw steak, do you just put the blade on it and push or do you go back and forth in a sawing motion? Which cuts better? Simple ideas work great.

Damn, that reminds me... I gotta shave tonight. (I'm a once a weeker even at 26 haha)

George Grand

With that being said, I imagine some of you guys stick the blade into the steak and then have somebody move the meat back and forth FOR YOU.

I still get a straight blade cut when I go to the barber.

My wife started using my Mach3 and loves them, I'm sure when I go toget my last fusion blade it will have been used....:(

I actually just let it grow and rip it out by the roots with pliers.

A little gasoline as aftershave and I'm ready for a day in the mines.

I've used three different razors in 23 years of shaving. I started with my great grandad's razor. You unscrewed the top and put a blade in the top....I used that until I went to college and splurged on a Gillette Sensor. Used that until the head came off it about a year ago. Now I got one of these with the battery in it. Works ok, I'm dubious about water and electricity that close to my mug.

Anybody still use real shaving soap and a brush?

I just use a Norelco electric shaver. Not a nice one, but it does a decent job for the most part. I must admit, though, sometimes I have to act like I'm trying to push it through my cheek to get a close shave.

By the way, I only shave once every two or three days.

But they're fast and convenient. And for me, at least for now, that's all I really care about.

There is one fellow I see in the change room of our building using shaving soap and brush with the load from the top razor.

Still use Sensor Excel blades. Hate to see how much the new Fusion blades cost.

Oh and you think you had it bad? Growing up at home we' fight over the empty beer bottles dad would leave around the house in his drunken stupor, smash 'em and use the larger pieces to "psuedo straight razor" our stubble.
Listerine was a fine antiseptic/aftershave.....
