I am looking to upgrade on older poiner receiver for one with dolby digital. Prefered brands are Denon, Yamaha or Onkyo. I am researching some b-stock alternatives but I wanted to check and see if any polkies have anything sitting around collecting dust. I will not condider any HK gear. I find there older models to have spotty quality. There new items seem to be better, but the styling is either love it/hate it and I am on the hate it side. I am looking at the lower end of these product lines, like the $100 - $200 dollar range. This is going to be in the family room and I cannot justify spending anymore. I could go a little higher for a killer deal on B&K or NAD or Sunfire or .... Ok, now back to reality. The only real must have is at least 2 digital inputs and video switching. 3 s-video inputs would also be nice.

BTW Tweeter is supposed to have the Denon AVR 1705 for $228. Is that a good deal?

Thanks,
Patrick

I would look for maybe a used Onkyo 502 or 503. It should be just what you need.
