What do y'all think of this stand from VTI? Seems like it will do the trick and support some big amps on the top but not be too tall to block the plasma or too wide to mess up my SDA's. I'm thikning black pole, silver spikes, and oak shelves.

VTI BL 503 (http://www.vtimanufacturing.com/BL%20503SSC.htm)

Thanks,
Wes

I like it a lot.

I like it, but the front middle pillar is in the way, esp. if you plan to use a center channel.

BTW, I use a similar VTI for my audio rack. Looks good, easy to assemble, WAF friendly, several color options, and inexpensive (relatively). I like the fact that it comes in sections, so you can easily disassemble and reassemble it by lifting off each shelf. I bought mine from www.racksandstands.com. Good customer service and free shipping. Another option is to shop around locally. You can always run across deals on new or display models at BB or CC and other places.

No center channel for me. I was gonna put my Parasound top center so it can breath and reach the SRS's evenly. My plasma is wall mounted so no TV worries. It's gonna be purely for gear. It seemed fashionable, but not overstated at a good price and good weight capacity. Racksandstands has it for $250 shipped, cheaper than on A'gon. Thanks, Early.

The only bad thing is that I think I might have to get some new IC's since the .5m AQ DB's aren't gonna make it.

$250 is a pretty good deal.

That's what I thought too. :) On A'gon someone wanted $270 plus shipping.

GO FOR IT!!

BTW, I was looking at the exact unit yesterday as a possibilty for upgrading my AV rack. I had to talk myself out of it for now, but I plan to buy one eventually.

I really like the silver hardware, cherry shelve combination. It looks real sharp!

Carl, I thought it looked pretty sharp too. I just randomly found it looking around on A'gon. I think this is a gonna be a nice purchase.

Outstanding, that's gonna look good between the SDA's.

Funny note: Bev is still saying "holy shit, did you see the size of those speakers..." LOL

Pretty funny! Y'all need to come up soon so that we can do some serious listening. Not that the race wasn't fun but...

I'll post some happy snaps in the systen showcase once that stand arrives.

I am curently designing one just like this.
I am making mine out of stainless steel and the one 20' piece of tubing cost me $150.00.
Mine will be far stronger and heavier than this one but is also going to cost way over $250.00 to build.

Looks good.

Damn. What are you gonna have to support? Krell or Pass mono's?

The top shelf is going to hold our HD tube t.v. I think it is a 36 inch but I know it weighs alot.
I also like to overbuild anything I make from scratch.
I also bout the wrong size tubing by accident so this is what I want to do with it.
I was going to put granite shelves in it but it is going to cost $1500.00 for the granite so I think a nice wood will work.
I also want to isolate the shelves by putting springs under them. This helped the cd player in the garage that used to skip everytime someone closed the garage door.

I also thought up the idea before I saw any pictures of other racks.
I actually thought I had something original until I did alittle research.

It's here! I had it delivered to work so that some enterprising kids wouldn't make off with it. Now, how do I get to leave early....

Cough, Cough, sneeze sneeze.

I don't feel good. I better go so I don't pass it on to everyone here.
