I'm looking to try out a new pair of interconnects, but don't want to spend too much money on them. My budget is $150 new or used for 0.5 M. I currently have Kimber Heros. The Heros are great, but I'll never know if they can be bested if I don't try. Any ideas?

Thanks.

what are you trying to accomplish? Better mids, clearer highs, better bass response. I dont know if there is "one" perfect interconnect that can do everything well.

I'm probably wrong... but i have yet to demo the "perfect" cable.

I use these in my 2 ch SDA system. Very nice detail. And these won't break the bank.

Email the seller John and he will tell you about his different cables and of the high end, high construction build of his cables. A few other people in Club Polk also use these interconnects.

My main focus is on mids.

You not going to get much if at all better in that price range. The hero's are pretty fantastic. I suggest if you want better, save more money and get to the next level.
I have tested alot of different 250.00 and down IC's against the hero's and the Hero's won everytime.

Good luck

Dan

I hear ya, Mantis. What I'm trying to do is experiment with the concept of "synergy." I recently changed out my speakers and I have a feeling that I can get a slight bit more performance out of them by changing out cables. The only way to know is to try. If they don't work, I can always hold onto my Heros.

(he he -- "hold onto my heros" sorta sounds perverted...)

treat your hero's well. Cant get them for 150.00 but MIT Shotgun S3 are my favorite connects 269.00 for 1m. no .5m.

Its all synergy and taste - but that anti cable for $50 less should run circles around the Hero and then some. But then again, as I've said before, the Hero never was all too fantastic of a performer to me.

Cables are waaaaaay to subjective a thing to try to get opinions. many people swear by AQ Diamondbacks--I hate'm; see what I mean.

If you want to experiment with a different topology, try Analysis Plus oval*.*; one of the most underrated cables in the biz.

Agreed with Steve 110%. Taste, electronics, all that good shtuff.

Audience uses some decent one-crystal copper, Anti with the twisted magnet wire - total different approaches that can yeild fantastic results with the right system synergy.

I picked up some Audioquest Jaguars of Audiogon for $200/pair. These are the best that I have heard in my system. Nice sound ove the entire frequency range. Clear, detailed good bass response.
