SACD Multi-channel not working

I have an Onkyo Universal player along with an Onkyo TR-SX603X receiver.

While playing DVD-A and selecting the MULTI-CHANNEL mode on the Onkyo, the 5.1 works just fine.

However, when I play SACDs, the music only comes from my front 2 speakers.

Has anyone had this issue?

check the label on the SACD album, and see if it's only stereo or Hybrid MCH

Check your players OSD and make sure your SACD output is set to 5.1 and not 2 channel only.
You do have 6 analog cables connected between the player and the receiver don't you?

Hi all - I did get it to work. Thanks Frank Z. My settings on the receiver were fine, I had to explicitely state the SACD output should be multi-channel.
