So I have been using a lint free cloth with a bit of Distilled Water on it to wick away the debris that collects on my Preener, I see where the company recommends a bit of moisture on the Preener prior to its use to help with static control. Anybody use anything else??

I shouldn't ask but what the heck is a Preener and why don't you want static on it?

Parostatik Preener= a very nifty round "brush" used as a final touch on your vinyl to remove any surface particles and control static build-up which may have occured in the cleaning process.

I really like the brush.

Yup... Edwin Watts knew his vinyl...

Ted,
Pop off the end cap and there's a wick inside. Remove it and soak it in distilled water, shake out the excess and put it back inside. In no time the preener will be moistened.

As for cleaning off accumulated LP stuff.... I've always used an old sytlus brush.
