I was looking some Outlaw Audio amps this morning an noticed that you can get the model 7500 (5x200w) for $1499 or you could get five of the model 2200 mono blocks (1x200w) for just a little over $1200. Would there be any benafit in going with the 7500 that would be worth th extra $300

Less power cords and balanced interconnects is the advantage of the 7500. Guarranteed 200watts of power per channel is the advantage of the mono blocks. The 7500 has two main distribution areas for power so you may not get 200watts per power for every channel if you are pushing your system to the very limit. Of course if you are pushing it that hard, I would be able to hear it from Florida.

The M2200 goes to class g at like 80 watts or so. 7500 is class a/b all the way. So, the 200 watts on the m2200 is probably a more realistic figure, but it comes with class g baggage.

I use a M200 for my center channel, it does a great job regardless of whatever class it is in. The sound is loud and the dialog is clear.

If you have enough outlets for 5 power cords go for it. If not just get a 7500 & be done with it.

Good point- you'd have a hard time hearing that on HT duty... If you ever put them in a dedicate 2 channel rig, you might notice it.

Casey,

I take that back. I probably will not be able to hear you anyway over Joe's system.

Have you ever thought about the audiosource monoblocks?

the whole five powercord thing is probably be the best argument for going with the 7500. you would have to speand atleast half of what you saved buy going with the mono blocks to buy a decent power strip, that is if you don't have a ton of outlets to choose from. and having every thing in one spot would help too. thanks for the input guys :)
