what are the disadvantages of biwiring if any and is it more iffective when using expensive amps costing $3000 and more or can this work with cheaper models like the Pioneer vsx 815/915 or Marantz 4600/5600 these models range around $300 to $450 and claim to be bi-ampable. i spoke to a sales man who said the bi-amping reduses the ohm value of your speaker and makes it difficulf for the amp to drive speakers. is there any truth to this. he also went on to say that this is more effective with amps retailing for $3000 and more. According to him these amp have two or more transformers for the job and generaly have switches at the back of them to to switch to this bi-amping option.

Having said that, does that mean these manufatures who claim that their amps have this function are pulling wool over our eyes, can someone clarify this for me.

Ok...I am tired of cutting and pasting. Press the "Search this Thread" button at the top right corner and type in "bi-amp"
