Im looking to get a small 2CH system for my dorm room. I was considering possibly getting the Def Tech PowerMonitor 500 or 700 speakers. Since i listen to mostly rock, i like to have a little more bass then i can usually get out of a bookshelf. Has anyone ever heard the powermonitor series?

Also, what would you consider for powering them. Id like to get a small integrated to keep it simple. But i know alot of integrateds dont have LFE out. Can i still get the powerd sub to work with out using the LFE in on the speaker?

Thanks for the help!

I am going to live in a small room as well and was considering these for next year, and even though I have a dealer semi close by, have only heard the mythos. Lots of people like the mythos but I don't. I won't judge this line but as I can agree with you that most people like def tech for rock and movies.

A nice integrated, might want to give a price range. I just read a sterophile review on this one from outlaw which they loved - http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/rr2150.html

I'll be moving from my current set up (look below in sig) to hopefully jm labs line, but I'll be doing a few months of research and listening before i buy.

The energy C-3 from audioadvisor is a great cheap one that I use on my computer. It has plenty of low extension, not as much as that power monitor, but for the savings you could buy a decent sub.

Hope this helps,
