Using LCi's as surround

I noticed that the LC i series speakers (that I just bought) suggests you place the speakers 2' or more from the wall. is this also true when you are using them as surround speakers or can I have them closer than 2 feet from the back wall (I am using LC80i as surround) and LC65i as rear surround.

Well I answered my own question, They sound better (when used as surround speakers) still 2 feet from the wall, pointed toward the listening area and set to wider tweeter range.
