The answer is to your question is yes, huge.
go and do an a/b comparo yourself if feasible. If not, save your money and get the rti4's.

For surrounds, I doubt the upgrade will give you much. But to try it out for yourself, switch your RTi6's to the rear and R15's to the front, just for kicks, and see whether you like em better than the R15's. The RTi4 is comparable to the RTi6's, they just do not go as low.

Ahhh I should make myself more clear. My buddy wants some Polk speakers he doesn't have a cpu. He likes my R15 but has the $$ to buy something better. He doesn't want to buy Ascends or sim. No internet speakers which I think is a better buy cost wise. He wants Polk. He was thinking R15 all around. He wants bookshelf. I didn't like R15 for fronts so I bought RTI6 I wasn't sure the Rti4 was enough upgrade for me= same size drive no matter how inferior. I couldn't hear RTI4 so I went one up to make sure I didn't have the need to do it again (soon). I posted my system I may not have golden ears but my setup is humble descent for my room. Now the RTI4 is a much much better upgrade for fronts than the R15????

The RTi4 is a _vastly_ superior speaker to the R15. The R15 is a very nice entry level speaker, and is quite pleasant sounding and mellow, but the RTi4 has superior detail, imaging, bass and presence. Coupled with a good sub, the RTi4 can hold its own as a front till he decides to upgrade to 6's. I have used both and I know this from direct experience.

Thanks thats what I was looking for detailed answer. The RTI4 will sound similar but have more clarity and go louder?? I told him to get bigger fronts but wifey wants sats(tiny). I told him he wouldn't be happy and get bookshelf for at least the fronts. He likes his music loud.
