When I got my NAD equipment, the C521BEE CDP I wanted was on backorder. So, they charged me for the C521, but they loaned me a C542 (the only one of those they had was the display unit. I got everything but the box) until it got in. Well, that was a month ago and they haven't called.

No brainer, as long as you have warranty coverage on the 542, I would just keep it; That is, unless they ask for it back.

If they don't ask for it, keep it. They probably think they loaned you a 521.

Am I the only one who even attempts integrity? I would let 'em know.

Just noticed you're in NC, too. Just curious, what store are you dealing with that carries NAD? I'm not sure I've found NAD gear around here yet.

Well, its a used unit with warranty so they prob. made out ok, but a loaner is just that, I would contact them by mail and tell them since they are unable to send you the paid for unit you are willing to accept the used store model with warranty.

That sounds like a good idea.

Elite Audio in Clemmons carries the NAD line. The owner and I are good friends as he was the one who sold me my first set of SDAs back when he was with NOW Audio in Winston.

Cool, I had forgotten they sell NAD gear. I know Mr. Near, too. First met him about three years ago at Now! Audio Video. I bought my Yammy and Klipsch from him before he started his own place.

The right thing to do is to call & remind them.

Im sure that Bart will let him (her) know when the one that was back ordered comes in and I think it was good of him to loan you a player while yours was on backorder.

Ditto. That's very generous of him to make sure you had a source while waiting for the other one to come in. And he loaned you a nicer one? That sounds just like Bart to me. I would never think of repaying such kindness by keeping quiet and keeping the loaner for myself.

Wow, I had no idea you were close with the store owner. So yeah, you should let him know.

But if this happened to me at my NAD dealer where I got my cdp, no way in hell I'd call them back. The manager treated me like a piece of ****.

It all worked out. My C521 came in. I did not like it because the display did not match the one on the receiver. It might seem picky, but it would have bugged the heck outta me. They ordered a C542 for me AND gave me the loaner back until it comes in. You just cannot beat that kind of service. I will do more business with them - if I can offord it - LOL.

I just bought a Rega Apollo from Bart, he doesn't carry Rega line but I knew he would have the connection and I had rather deal with a guy who has given that kind of service for the last twenty years. The black ones where backordered so he had the company to send me a loaner.
