anyone have any experience with this sub? I just ordered a demo unit on line for under $1600 including 2 year warranty. I never heard this sub before, but I do like some of their lower end models. I have been looking to replace my svs with a seal sub and hope that this one will workout.

Should be good. I hope you got the one with remote. This can be very convenient when switching from movies to music mode. :)

I'm sure it's similar to the DD series. I just played around with the DD15 for a month. Great output and extremely musical. It's a different sound than the SVS, more controlled and flatter response with the EQ. I really miss the one I had. I get ungodly response down low with my SVS. It played louder than the Velo, just didn't blend as well. There was some content I preferred with each sub, but both do an outstanding job. Both subs will blow you away, just not on the same content.

I should mention that Velo has the SPL-1500r waiting for release. It has many of the dd-15 features with less the cost. It is to retail for a little over 2000 USD.

Should be great with Auto EQ, remote, 15" kevlar driver and 1000w rms. :p

The HGS-15x and the DD15 do have more watts though. :)

hmmm, i didnt hear about that one, but after looking at there web page it looks like it will come out in may. I would really like the auto eq, but it looks like the HGS models have less distortion. maybe i will buy their add on auto eq box if i feel i need it (my receiver already has 3 channel eq for sub).

Yea, i heard that the sub is very flat and blends in well to any system, which is just what i am looking for. My SVS is good for movies in certain instances, but it is just too big for me to try to position it perfecty to blend it in well. Anyway, my sub should arrive tomorrow or saturday. can't wait.

Pretty good review on the HGS15X

As I said, I doubt there's much difference in SQ between this one and the DD15. It will be a great performer.
