What would happen to a DVC coil sub if you decided to only connect the one coil and use it that way?

Remember though that you should derate the max amp power by about 25% or so. Or just be careful with how much juice you put through them. Also your output will decrease by about 3db. You can also hook up a variable resistor to the second coil and change the Qts of the driver.

This link tells you how http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/TechPapers/RDOOperation.pdf

You could always hook the sub coils up in series.
