Hi I was wanting to know if I could power 1 or 2 PSW 1000 with a swa 500 amp? Or does it have to be the floor made subwoofers?

Also another thing, I'm having a hard time judging where to place my subwoofer. It's a Velodyne VRP-1200 and I've had it pretty much wherever you can think. It's been in my closet that's right directly beside my entertainment center, it's been directly beside my entertainment center, it's been right behind my couch directly in the middle, it's been beside my door, and it's currently on the right side of my coffee table flush against it. I have a 16 x 16 room so I don't have a lot of room to work with. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

if you've moved it around that many times.. there ought to be one place that worked best.. all rooms are different of course... carpet, walls, furniture all contribute to the sound from your speakers and subwoofer.

I find that up front near my left speaker OR in the back of the room near the couch sound best to me.

Just don't sweat it though.

Get a long patch cable (you may already have one if you have moved your sub to that many places) Set a board on/in your main listening position - put the subwoofer on the board.

Now put on some tunes or loop a movie with bass you like, and crawl around your room listening for where you get the best bass. Once you find the spot - switch places with the sub. (you get it sit down, and put your sub where you heard the good bass)

BTW - I recommend doing this when no one else is home unless you like getting laughed at. (although the look on their face when they ask if the sub is going to stay on the couch is pretty funny)

Nice! This sounds kinda fun actually :) I may have my wife do it while I watch from my lofty arm chair! :D :D :D

I would recommend using the SWA500 without any powered subs (just passive subs like our CSW stuff). Why buy an amp for a sub that already has its own amp :)
