Receiver: Pioneer Elite VSX-59TXi
Amplifier: NAD Electronics M-25
Front Speakers: Snell Acoustics XA 60THX
Center Channel: Atlantic Technology 4200 C
Surrounds: Snell Acoustics SR 30THX
Subwoofer: Velodyne HGS-18
Cables: Monster THX certified everything

I think that might be some new stuff for this except for monster and velodyne that nobody's talked about since I've been around. But what do you think that could sound like? I can't find prices for any of that stuff. That is a completely THX certified Home Theater system.

There are two THX gear rules:

1. Don't buy because it is THX cert'd...

2. Don't not buy because it is THX cert'd...

take THX with a grain of salt?

i'm not even sure what that means or relates to. It just sounds right.

THX is just a certification, but it's by no means important, plenty of great gear doesn't get the certification, maybe not because they dont' want it, just they don't need it to sell their product.

While having THX certification may give you some piece of mind when buying lower end components, I wouldn't hesitate buying quality higher end components without it. Heck, I don't even use THX mode on my reciever, I prefer DD-EX or DD+PL2x for my theater sound.

My THX Ultra certified Denon AVR4800 sounds great. I realize there is better equipment out there, though.

Toilette Home Xtreme model huh? I saw that one at Home depot the other day, nicely built, but didn't really hug my ass like the
Big Old Stinky Excrement model did.:D

I use this in my bathroom:
http://www.quietsolution.com/html/quietrock_thx.html

Keeps the entire neighborhood from hearing those really low bass rumbles.

In all seriousness, a lot of the gear that Lucasfilm uses in their own studios isn't certified, which ought to tell you something.
