I actually bought this sub and returned it. Not because it was bad, In fact I liked it quite a bit. I returned it just so I could use the money for the Rti polks I got. The velo had really smooth distortion free bass. Filled out my large living room quite nicely. It can definitely rattle the floor but doesnt really 'hit' too hard if you know what i mean. The remote is nice, but not having a volume dial and having to judge volume level by the flashing light was annoying. The auto on on mine would only turn on once the volume hit a certain level, usually above normal TV listening levels for me. The DSP features were nice too, and I usually hate most DSP. Definitely a great sub especially for a 15" at that price range. However, as always, you can probably get a better performance-per-dollar ratio by getting an SVS sub. But if you can get a good deal on the velo id say go for it.

The only real issue with Svs is international distribution or lack there of. :p

i've heard that the velo5000r have a better spl than svs, just won't go near as low. very loud in the upper bass.

Also remember that Svs subs tend to be heavier than their competition. :p

I to had this sub. I did sell for a svs. The vel was very strong, volume controll a little funky (blinking light). I did return for repair on the auto on. I to had to turn volume way up for responce.
